  • Shadowscream sellback

Hi, this is my first post in EQtraders forum, but I have been lurking & learning here for over a year, so first of all I want to say BIG THANKS to DenMother and the rest of administrators for they hard work.

My question is: is it worth to sell back the SS armor to merchants? how much do they give for each collar?

I am almost 188 and just want to know what to expect. Thanks in advance.

The collars only sell for about 8g and change to NPC vendors. However, I had to sell off a bunch of them this way just to get them out of the way. My trader toon was already full.

I don't know about other servers, but these do not sell well on Innoruuk.

I'm not sure what you mean by worth it. I sell my shadowscream for 30pp a pop, but I rarely have more than 5 pieces on my trader because I don't do mass skill runs. Sells slowly but passably for me.

If you're asking should you sell back to vendors or destroy, then I say always sell rather than destroy. Some pieces sell back for a plat or 2, so as far as input costs go, you're maybe breaking even, but you're not going to get rich selling SS to vendors.

I sell pieces I make in the bazaar for 15-30pp, and sell maybe 2-3 a week. With a LOY trader bank with lots of space, it makes a small amount of cash, and the wait to turn 1pp into 30pp is worth it, since I can do it while I sleep/work/clean/go out etc.

Shadowscream sold well in the bazaar on the day LoY came out, as there were so many people twinking their frogs. Otherwise, I occasionally sell the boots for 50, but the boot mold is the more expensive of the 1 orb/2 shadow molds. I make just bracers now and sell them to merchants for about 1.5pp, which I think is a very slight profit after buying the ore and mold.

Other than that, I make suits of Shadowscream for free for friends, and if I have the time then I go to Oggok and Faydark and give away pieces to newbies rather than sell them to merchants.

Well, I did sell out of my shadowscream during the Great Froglok Twink-A-Thon of late February -- as well as almost everything else I had on my trader. Everyone was twinking their frogs and fewer than 150 of us had our trader toons up. (I also made an absolute killing on dyes, as I was one of the first people on my server to get to Gunthak, decipher the recipe, and crank them out. Within six hours the dye market crashed, but oh, what a glorious six hours... I sold out of dye as fast as I could make it).

Other than the Twink-Out, I had been sitting on several dirt cheap Shadowscream pieces for a very, very, very long time. I am currently skilling up on Teir'Dal cultural, which DOES sell well, and have gotten rid of the shadowscream to make room for it.

Thanks for the answers, I will make bracers and sell most to merchants, leaving a few at bazaar at 25pp.

On a side note, I just skilled up from 183 to 188 in exactly 20 combines, got the last point from my last leather padding. Yesterday I skilled up from 175 to 183 in 42 combines. And only 225 STR! I hope the RNG keeps smiling at me! 8)

Nice skilling up there, I just sell all my SS bracers to the merchant myself, never tried to vendor sell them myself.

agree with the above posters, i usually drop the boots and bracers to my trader. I sell the boots for 20pp and i sell about 2 a week on morell thule, the bracers for 15pp and 1 or 2 a week. Not a huge money maker, but they do selll fairly steady.

If i make a large run i lower my prices down to 15pp for the boots. The tunics actually sell for 150, but as i have been stuck at 200 for over 60 combines (ICK) i am using the most economical route i can (1 orb/2 shadows)

                  Good luck!
