• Quick question regarding cultural smithing

I'm a halfling... I know, not much to do with smiths in halfling cultural.

I was thinking of raising my smithing. Until I saw what is one of the things that I can't really understand regardless of how much I try.

So if someone could, i'd like to know why it is. That it takes a Dwarf to forge the cultural armor, of a Halfling God. By this i'm referring to the mischievous platemail for clerics. It just doesn't seem to make the least bit of logical sense to me

    HELP!

What's not to understand? Because Halflings arent known for metalworking, SoE gave the Bristlebane imbue to Dwarven smithies. I'm honestly not sure if Dwarven Clerics or Paladins can follow Bristlebane, but I dont go looking for logic in EQ, either

Why can Dark Elven cultural be worn by Frogloks, who follow only Mithraniel Marr?

Why do half-elves have no culture and are unable to make any cultural?

Why does high elven cultural armor require a foraged item, and no high elves can forage?

      JUST BECAUSE.

        /em tongue firmly in cheek.

I blame Lord of the Rings (and/or The Hobbit)!!

It CLEARLY shows a halfling wearing cultural (mithril) chain crafted by dwarves!!! (or was it elves? I forget).

Anyway, blame Tolkien for no Halfling Cultural armor!

Because Half-Elves are halfbreeds, not a true race. Wouldn't make sense for them to have cultural.

Hmm one could assume they would take upon themselves the culture they were predominantely raised in..... much like what happens when foreign children are raised in countries which are not their own? /shrug

Doesn't it strike you as odd that Humans have two different "branches" of cultural (Freeport and Qeynos) and they can happily make either armor regardless of their starting city and wheither or not they actually spent much time at that city prior to walking into town and heading straight for the forge?

The real question is, why are you looking for logic here?

What brought you to this conclusion may I ask? Perhaps logic? Or was it eq history?

Because if logic didn't exist at all, everyone would be agnostic. And if nothing made sense, you'd have arctic wyverns in Solusek's Eye. Logic exists everywhere, and Verant's been trying to make it all make sense since day one. Fixes for spells are all done in their logic as to what a spell should be. Not just because. It was plainly an oversight.
