  • Human Cleric 250 Blacksmith on Xev! At last!

    Wednesday, March 15th, 2003, at 2:40pm EST!

    Hit 250 and promptly celebrated!

Did Shadowscream from 188 to 250. Made a few other pieces on the way but not for skillups, which is good since I didn't get any skill-ups on them anyway.

Many thanks to all the folks who post the info and assistance here.

(BTW: Made my Trophy as well, but did that at 245 skill.)

    Grats!

Grats on your trophy too! I don't have the plat to make it yet, as I chose to do Sickles all the way, instead of Shadowscream

I bow to your perserverance and insanity for farming Shadowscream...that is a tough thing to do.

How many stacks of Wailing substance and shrieking substance did you gather at one time? Just curious... I've recently hit 170 and have tons of shrieking in the bank...

I enjoy doing shadowscream farming for some reason, relaxing almost. I know you did an insane amount of farming, but can I get an estimate of the amount of stacks used?

Hopefully only around 124 stacks each assume that there's a skill up each 2 stacks if I'm lucky. Double that for the shadows.

I'm on Xev too, I should harass you about this in game :P

Gratzy! How much of your SS burning did you do after they dropped No Rent?

Not sure what you mean by SS burning. Typically, I did it in stages because I refused to let Sony drive me totally insane. So, I did 1 stage a day.

Day 1: Go to Hollowshade Moor. Find out it was broken. Call a GM to get it reset. Put Owls in Power. Farm 100 red stones.

Day 2: Go to Hollowshade Moor. Find out it was broken. Call a GM to get it reset. Put Wolves in Power. Farm 100 blue stones.

Day 3: Go to Twilight Sea. Gather 26 black stones. Zone crashes. Come back to find all black stones gone. Petition and get told "Too bad, we're not replacing them." Farm 40 then high-tail it out of there.

                Then off to smith them.

Once the No-Rent tag dropped, I only farmed enough to get me up to 40 black stones. If I, say, 4 left over from the previous day's run, then I'd only get 36 today.

Granted the last day I started at 247 and got 2 skill-ups in the run of 20, so I did go do an extra 40 to slip in that last point...which fortunately worked.

(And today I made a new .sig) (Which I've just discovered has a flaw, but I'm gonna leave it here, repair it, repost it, and let the magic of the internet fix it.)

                  Grats Lonz!

And WTF is up with Twilight Sea crashing anyway? That single zone loves to crash itself when there is only 1 person in the zone. I personally had it crash twice while farming and no other zones the guild was in crashed. Both times I was the only one in the zone. The one time I lose 40+ shadows and the 2nd time I got lucky and got right back in so I didn't lose them.
