Anyone notice a change in shadowscream skill rises?

Before the last patch I got 14 skill-ups from 100 combines on shadowscream boots (188-202). Since the patch I've got 2 rises from 80 combines . (STR 234 INT 355, was the same for both sessions)

This could have just been luck, but the difference between the two is quite striking, which makes me wonder if they've lowered the chance to skill-up on shadowscream. (If this is true, frankly I'd rather they had left the shadows as no rent rather than nerfing the only viable way of skilling up).

14 sill-ups on 100 combines is an incredible average. Most would be lucky to see 5 for 100. Though I am not a long-time poster here, only my 2nd response, it seems from the data I have read here that you had an incredible run of luck with the RNG, and now it seems to have caught up with you.

Personally I was lucky enough to average 3 ups per 30 combines from 192-209, after that it took almost 60-70 combines to go to 210. I'm was more than happy with those results to say the least.

With 27 ethereal ring combines, I recently hit 212. I plan on doing both imbued field plate combines as well Shadowscream combines for the next week, perhaps then I will be able to see if the Shadowscream has been nerfed.

IMO, your right. I have just finished 100 combines at a skill of 238 with a intelligence of 274 without 1 point. I have never in my smithing career combined that amount of Shadowscream without a skillup. Call it "catching" up to me but it seems to much of a coincidence at this time. Anyone else having issues with this out there?

I just did 44 combines this morning with 255str and 162int, got 3 levels. Leveled twice in 11combines to get to 210. switched to ethreal rings and got to 212 in 19 combines . Then finished off the other 33 combines of shadow scream and got one more level.

It's all a matter of luck really. Bad or good. I did 20 shadowscream combines two days ago and got 4 skillups (225-228). So there is no change, just wonky RNG.

On the road from 184 to 194 I have done more than 100 combines to get a skillups on a lot of occasions. From the 250 and almost 250 smiths in my guild it is not uncommon at all till you reach the 220's

Did 60 combines last night, got 4 skill ups with 355 wisdom.

Back when I was getting to 250 tailoring, I had a run of 200+ combines with no skill ups. The streakiness of the RNG is nothing new. My advice is if you get 40 combines with no skill ups, simply go do something else for a bit. Or log out for half an hour. The RNG is streaking against you.

200 skill lvl. 255 wis 255 str. 60 SS armor combines, 20 sickle combines (got sick of farming) ZERO skill ups, BLEH!

Stuck on 200 smithing. Did 60 shadowscream plus some acrylia and cultural day before patch. Nada.

At the weekend I skilled an alt from zero to 240 JC. Easy.

Yesterday I got 159-162 in tailoring in 13 combines.

Just a wonky RNG, like the man says.

Did 33 SS bracers last night. STR 248, skill 207. Got 2 skill-ups to 209.

Over the last month I have done 73 SS Gorget combines, The first combine I went from 188 to 189, the next 72 I have had zero skill ups. Wis is 253 and Str is 254...This is a very tuff road to travel.

From 188 to 200ish id say i averaged 40ish combines between skillups (with streaks hitting into the 60combine mark)

It doesn't sound like it was nerfed. Just that the your luck is changing as the universe balances itself

I farmed a couple of stacks of swirling shadows yesterday just to make some combines. Got 18 humming orbs and on those attempts (bracer) I went from 188 to 190. Just RNG being nice for once.
