  • Did they raise the Bar on Tae Ew Chain?

With a raw skill of 224 and Geerlok I've been running about 70% on the Tae Ew Chain combines.

I had 5 of the Distilled lizard blood Tempers ready to go after todays patch, and proceeded to go 0 - 4 on Tunics, and 1 - 1 on the repaired Bracer recipe.

I know the sample is small, but keep your eyes open. I'm wondering if they raised the trivial on some of these pieces, or if the RNG was in a bad mood today after the patch. Time will tell.

    Something similar

I made a 9 piece human BD cultural run last night after the patch, i have never ever failed so many attempts i made 1 luminant BP out of the 9 i attempted, before the patch i usually made 1 out of 2.
Are there anyone else here that have experinced something similar or am i just unlucky like Chilao.

      Before patch
      2/4 tae ew chain tunic
      4/6 tae ew shield

Normally I run about 90-100% on Tae Ew stuff, 255 int, 250 str, 250skill+ trophy.

      After patch
      1/1 Night terror chain tunic
      1/3 Full Mithril Helm
      1/2 Full Mithril BP
      0/2 Full Mithril legs
      1/2 Full mithril bracer
      0/1 Full Mithril Pauldron
      1/2 Full Mithril neck

All I can say is.. Terrible!!

        Call me superstitious, but ....

There was a period for a couple months where I was always getting packet loss in Oggok, but not in other zones. (My guess is that Oggok on Quellious was on a server with some connectivity issues.) I was experiencing significantly lower success rates for ogre cultural than I was for dwarven, even though both my smiths were 250 + trophy. (It was so bad I was considering not making ogre cultural for a bit.) When I stopped getting packet loss in Oggok, success rates improved.

I've been seeing packet loss in most zones the last few days. Haven't done much smithing, but so far 2 failures on four combines of acrylia plate.

Are you seeing packet loss when you are having bad luck smithing? Even only 1.6% or so seemed to affect my success rates....

The success rate I think has been leveled out. Before this latest patch Tae Ew shields failed rarely. But this last time had 1 fail. I've also been failing combines on lessor things. I failed an Artisan's Seal an thats never happened. Also failed a ton on Qeynos Afternoon Tea combines the other day. I've noticed that packet loss thing in Shadowhaven alot lately.

            re

not smithing combines, but i have done brewing, baking and tailoring combines this weekend with LOTS more failures than I ever have before.

Brewing: VERY trivial stuff like aviak egg oil, purified water, vegetable oil, etc, 30% failure rate
Baking: subcombines for misty thicket picnics have been failing alot more than usual
Tailoring: solstice robes I usually have a 30% success rate, i had a 15% success rate (this is good) my velious success rates were lower as well.

Now I didn't have nearly the amount of data to draw any conclusions, but I just noticed alot higher failures this whole weekend. The RNG was very kind to my baking skill (averaged 1 point per 15ish combines in the 220's) but harsh with my tailoring skill (no skills ups in over 50 combines, nothing new here though, move along).

Hoping it was just a weekend bad RNG thing as i really want to get someone to try a tae ew chain tunic for my ranger and I just got the blood /shrug

Week ago, before patch, i did 4/5 on Taew shields and 4/10 on sickles with 212 skill + geerlok (sounds too good heh ?)

After patch I did 1/6 on Shields and 1/8 on sickles with 213+geerlok.

I understand my skill is quite low for these combines, but hell, this all just make me more suspicious as well...

The RNG did me right this weekend. No complaints.

                3/4 Night Terror Chain Tunics
                1/1 Night Terror Chain Legs
                8/13 Tae Ew Shields

                2 Skill-ups

My latest attempts have been pretty good

Started at 221 skill (with geerlok, of course)

                  1/2 Tae Ew shields

5/9 heraldic armor (Plus 1 skillup, to 222)
                  * *1/3 bracers
                  * *2/3 vambraces
                  * *2/3 BP

                  3/7 Tae Ew chain tunics

                  4/5 Tae Ew Shields

Of course, this follows a run of 60 sickles, out of which I succeeded only 11, and only one skillup, so its still pretty random.

I was wondering about the increased failure rate myself. I made 400 metal rings on Saturday stockpiling for shadowscream. With a skill of 194 I failed on 38 metal rings. That is almost a 10% failure rate on something that has been "trivial" for 150 skill points.

                      The black helicopters are circling...

Why is it after every patch one of these posts pop up?

                      My results for the weekend:
                      Tae Ew Tunics
                      12/14

                      Tae Ew Legs
                      3/3

And I gained a point on one of the tunics
I think the RNG is working just fine thx

                      239 skill w/ Geerlok

1 for 4 last night on the tunic and got two skill ups from 187 to 189.

Made tunic on 2nd attempt. I should have quit and sold the blood instead hehe.

                          I am loving these Lizards.

So far I am at 24 successes out of 37 attempts of the Tae Ew Shield.

                          I have sold 15 at 12,500pp each on average. 2 - 4 shields a day now.
I have spent about 90,000pp on Tae Ew Blood Vials and Iksar Blood buying a few of each every day.
I buy every Tae Ew Blood Vial that is put up for sale if it is 3K or less and Iksar Blood if less than 1K. Tripling my money quickly.
I still have 9 shields and 3 Scale Tempers in stock.
I never thought that I would make this kind of money when I started making these shields at 215 skill level. I have gotten 3 skill ups so far and am the envy of my guild.

THANK YOU ALL!!!! Your advice and suggestions have gotten me to where I am. I couldn't have done it with out you all.
