  • Hammers (Smithing hammers are not all the same)

Sorry if this is so basic to most of you guys but as a newbie to smithing I thought it maybe an idea to give other newbies some basic info which i couldn't find any definative info.

Basic smithing uses a smithy hammer
Some Acrylia smithing requires a Combine smithy hammer (Katta vendor)
Elven smithy hammer (High - elf)
    Dwarven smithy hammer (Dwarf)
    Teir'dal smithy hammer (Dark elf)
    Forging hammer (Iksar)

I bet theres more but these are the only ones i know of at the moment. Also whats with Wood Elves? embroidering needle???

Hope this helps some newbies like me who are currently bashing out tons of fine plate trying to skill up.

... wood elves make tailored armor, even if some of it is Chain class. (This is also true of Erudites and Halfings, who even make plate class tailored armor!)

I may be a silly tailor, but even I know it's COMBINE.

Named after the Combine Empire, not after something being Combined.

          Brelliume Battle Hammer.

Doesn't work with any sort of combines and isn't used in smithing at all, but it looks identical to the smithing hammers and always seems to be the one that I end up putting in the forge

And don't forget the geerlok hammer, which looks just like my regular hammer in inventory graphics

Doesn't seem to combine with anything

Wouldn't it be nice if the inventory icons were different colors so they could be told apart? Hehe Just a little pipe dream of mine whenever I head back to the bank again to get the right hammer ... ops:

Hah -- different icons. Right now I am dealing with the fact that my Essence of Shadow, Essence of Darkness, and Swirling Shadows all look alike. And what about the molds all looking alike? And patterns?

I just keep all my tools in one bag in my bank. Have I grabbed the wrong hammers before? Sure, but that's actually not unlike RL.
