  • a great black smithing guide. not just 4 dwarves tho. same 1

okay then, you wanna be a smith and happen to be a dwarf? well a dwarf is a good choice be cause of the great str at the beginning. now, to jump start it, start by killing anything that has a rusty long or rusty 2h in BB. If your high enough, kill towering brutes and greenbolds for this stuff.(if you have money to blow, there is a high elf inside a hut that sells longs) ok now go into mine inside kaladim. (south side i believe) now buy a few stacks of sharpening stones. and in that same area find a guy who sells water. buy a few stacks of those. (try to have a good amount of backpacks) now head back to north kaladim.in front of the warrior guild are two forges. one being the cultural forge the other just a forge. use the forge. Sharpen all the weapons you have, then when tarnished put in 1 weapon then 1 flask of water . depending on the weapon, you will get either a small brick of ore or a large brick of ore. for now keep the small and sell he large 4 1pp to the merchants inside the building by the forge. once you get two small bricks , put them in forge along with a flask of water. this will bring up sheet metal if successful KEEP the sheet metal. in fact make as many as you can. these are used later 4 banded mail. now that your about 35 go back into mine and buy some stacks (minimum 4) of small pieces of ore. these cost 1pp a stack. now head back to forge. put in 2 pieces of ore and a flask. this will get metal bits. get as many of these as you can. this is boring sine you have already trivd it but will save you cash. if you wanna farm them, get rusty axes tarnish then add flask of water in forge, wields two. now that you have a few stacks, go buy around 10 scaler molds. these are found in the hut the farthest from kaladim gates. make these till triv at 115 i think. if u wanna stop around 80-90 and make banded mail, do that. im not gonna go thru a banded mail guide. ok a good way 2 make cash si to solo an aqua gob camp. i had no problems doing this a a 15 wood elf druid. aslo 4 low lvls, kill skunks. about 1 in 5 will dropa pristine claw which sells 4 3pp. also sell pristine aviak claws which are common drops. they will get you almost 1pp. if you are doin the aqua gob thing, loot the heads, blood, and any chipped steins. in order to skill up fast as possible, get a high strength. i suggest if you have pop to go there and get a str buff then come back and smith. this was written by a level 5 pally who had almost no help from my druid. i actually have to credit this guide to my good freind tragnon of ayonae ro

please post any comments to make this better.

*edit* i hoped this helped evryione. i doesnt just help dwarves though, just they start in bb and thsi is a good way 2 get money.

You should also be on the look out for a few other things too... Using the PoK books you can safely get in to most if not all zones... Just look at a map to see which way not to go...

    Padding supplies
    Spiderlings (for silks)
    Butcherblock Mtns
    G. Faydark
    Feerot
    Innothule
    Shadeweavers Thicket
    Field of Bone
    Quality Pelts
    G. Faydark (Wolves)
    The Commonlands (Cats and Bears)
    Nektolos forest (Wolves and Bears)
    Shadeweavers Thicket (Hoppers)

You should also try to work tailoring up to ~50ish to make your own padding reliably

I would also suggest skilling up on brewing early... It's way cheaper to make your own then it is to buy finished tempers. Earthen Tempers, Coldain Velium Tempers and Combine Acrylia Tempers are all pretty expensive to purchase from both PC and NPC vendors. May as well do it while you can get the XP off the kills. By Skill level 154'ish, you can make Earthen Tempers with great success. As a by-product, you can increase your Alcohol Tol. for drunken smithing later... You have to buy bottles and maybe some additional ingredients, but they're not that expensive. Plus, you get the bottle back on a failure.

    Brewing Supplies
    Snake Scales (Bog Juice)
    Butcherblock Mtns
    East Freeport
    West Freeport
    Snake Eggs (Egg nog)
    Butcherblock Mtns
    East Freeport
    West Freeport
    Fresh Fish (Fish Wine)
Fish for them in any water (Rusty daggers to sharpen too... )
    Rat ears (Gnomish Spirits)
    Steamfont Mtns
    East Freeport
    West Freeport
    Spider legs (Gnomish Spirits)
    Butcherblock Mtns
    Steamfont Mtns
    G. Faydark
    Commonlands
    Field of Bone
    Zone essences
Normally a ground spawn in or near a newbie zone (or Fishing, in the case of Butcherblock....)

So, besides working up smithing, you have tailoring leather padding and brewing tempers as sidebar moneymakers. If you're pinched for cash, padding sells for ~20/ea and cultural tempers can fetch up to 100+p/ea. Combine tempers should sell in the neighborhood of 400+p/ea.

With your brewing skill high enough to make any temper, you need to firmilarize yourself with the ingredients of the other tempers. Making these when you can will add a bit of extra cash to your smithing effort. You can often find some or all ingredients on NPC vendors (depending on which ones) and can sell them for a huge profit once made in to a finished temper.
