Why assume that? I have more money than time for EQ. If I felt compelled to GM smithing I'd buy plat and make sickles.Originally posted by xaanruREADING BETWEEN THE LINES:I'm being funded by a friend called somethingauction.com
"I'm trying to GM smithing so I can sell EQ gear for RL cash."
Don't help this guy, please!!!!
Anyway, you'd be losing money if you tried it, I suspect.

I will not even quote what you said because a Mod is going to delete that whole post in a few mins I bet. If you read the RULES of the boards then you will see there is NO SWEARING on this sight and no personal attacks! You know what you wrote and I would apply it to yourself. As far as getting to 250 smithing in 5 days on 100kpp then selling things to make the money back. NOTHING in smithing goes for 150kpp, you might be able to get on the wagon of a new item (BD Cul or Tae ew) when it first comes out but within a week your 40k item is 13k with 15 people selling it. eqtraders also looks down on buy/selling ingame items/cash for real money and it is against the equla and you can get your accouct banned for it. Just an fyi.

SO let me get this straight....
1. Your buying plat for RL $ on *************.com to fund your smithing.
2. Then your going to use smithing to make plat? to buy uber items in EQ? /boggle
Why not just save yourself 3 weeks and a wrist and just ummmm buy items on PA w/ rl $? BTW, good luck making alot of plat on smithing.

The elemental-grade PoP stuff might go for something approaching six figures, if it were ever offered for sale, not that this is germane to the discussion at this point.

OK, kids, enough talk about using real-world cash to buy ANYTHING other than your EQ subscription or stuff from www.offlinetshirts.com and such.
Regardless of the actual implementation of such a plan, Sony is very clear on its policies in this regard. EQ Traders is also clear on its policies, but I'll sum it up here:
1) Buying in-game items (including money) with anything from the non-virtual world is NOT GOOD.
2) EQ Traders DOES NOT support, condone, or encourage such purchases in any way, shape, or form.
Please take this discussion elsewhere.
