Ethereal Rings = Easy Skill-ups

I dinged 211 skill on my first combine.
Dinged 212 skill 4 combines later. :P

From the posts I have read it seems that Ethereal rings are an easy 2 points(baring 1 poor souls 90 combines).
My advice to those buying these items for skill-ups is to only buy a few of each ingredient at a time. I wasted money buying 20 bricks and 20 tempers and only used 5 combines for 2 skill points.

I thought the combines were skill restricted for Ethereal Rings? Read somewhere that you couldn't attempt them until 220 (or 220 with modifier)...

They are skill restricted. With a geerlock equipped your modified skill is equal to 220 at skill 210 so you can get the 2 skill points. If you are 1 of the really lucky people you can do it at 192 skill with a +15% skill modifying item. Several are available.

I bought 58 tempers, and 58 bricks, assuming the skillups would be like the rest of my levels (i'd have to buy more). Seven combines after I hit 210, and started making rings, I hit 212, and they trivialled.

SEVEN COMBINES, 2 SKILLUPS. WHY DOES THIS NEVER HAPPEN WHEN I AM MAKING SICKLES.

Hehe, you got real lucky.

I used a Creator Hammer to do etheral from 194-212.

I had times when only 7 got me a skill up, but other skill ups took 80 or so combines.

Its just a normal skill up chance. Etheral is great for ease and simplicity but there isn't any inherant bonus to skilling up.
