  • Insane trade skill drop prices

Hi guys little bit of a rant combo question here.

About a week ago I was in the bazaar and was searching for elf blood. Some clown has it priced at 300pp for 5 vials. I used to see elf blood for maybe 30pp. the stuff drops quite commonly in oot and I know it drops in the new expansion.

The funny thing is I think a bunch of lowbies who where short on pp see this and figure they finnaly have a way of making money. All of a sudden there is a guy sell 200 elf blods for 300pp each. and numerous others selling for near 300. Over the last week the guy with 200 has not sold any and his price has fallen to about 200pp. With about 5 other people selling at or near 200.

Call me crazy but I still think elf blod should be worth maybe 25pp. It is not the rare drop of shadow tempers. essecne of shadows are. or am I wrong. and is this thing common on other servers. I am on prexus.

What is the going price for bloods are your server

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

I have had the same happen to H.Q Brute hides as well. Someone priced at 1k each and dragged everyone up, took 2 months to get back to semi-reasonable pricing.

Last month someone priced at 5k, players still have a price from 500 to 200 still.

It sucks, and this is more of a rant it seems...

If you think elf blood is worth 25pp, then don't pay more. What are you going to do? Get the people selling for what you think is too much to lower their price? Hold that thought for the next time someone tells you they want free combines if they bring the items to you and you say no and they get abusive with you.

Personally, I like to kill elves myself. If not, check the lighthouse. I've bought a lot of elf blood there.

Same thing here - see someone put up some silly price (250pp for Drop of Mercury, for example), then see new folks coming into market price accordingly. Can take a few weeks for prices to get back to what I'd consider "reasonable."

So options are: hoard when prices are reasonable (just funished working my way through about 400 Drops of Mercury I got last fall for 5-10pp each), check vendors often, and, worst comes to worst, hunt the mobs yourself.

Ugly part of it is, as more people get into the 60+ game with PoP, fewer people will be hunting the old zones where this stuff drops. So overall supply will probably diminish. (Not the same, but you can see a similar thing with essence of sunlight - scads was on the market in Quellious for 50pp or so for the first 2 months after the latest changes to the cleric epic, as folks were whacking anything that moved in Skyfire to get shards. Now that the huge backlog of epicless clerics has been cleared up, Skyfire is back to being a pretty quiet place - and Essence of Sunlight is selling for 250pp and up on Quellious.)

Personally, I like waiting until I need a lot of spiderling silks to start a new twink.

95th Dreadlord, Povar-Quellious, 300 Ogre Grand Master Smith, 300 all skills
(glad the climb to 300 is finally over)

        Zopharr
95th Priest of Brell, Povar-Quellious, 300 Dwarven Grand Master Smith, 300 all skills
(holds his 15% smithing trophy in his off hand and pretends to dual-wield - and hopes the Holy Dirt of Brell he's carried for twelve years will have a use in the new expansion)

        Rishathra
95th Shaman of Inny, Povar-Quellious, 300 Troll Grand Master Smith
(got so tired of looking for a troll smith for armor that I made one)

        Marzanna

        (still working on Solder, Spy)

I see it all the time. Just dont pay the price. I have even tried to rationalize with one person but it fell on deaf ears. Two weeks later the price dropped on Mug Of Seafoam and I bought them from the same guy that I tried to rationalize with.

If you realy don't like the price on something you use all of the time, collect an unreasonable amount of it, and price it at a slightly higher than what you consider reasonable price. i.e. collect 100 elf blood, price them at 50pp (when you like to pay 25pp) and break the back of the guys trying to sell them for 200pp. All of your elf blood salesmen will disappear or start pricing more reasonably.

Note: if you can't collect an unreasonable amount of something, it just might be worth what their charging! I don't like paying 200pp for windstones (as a matter of fact, I won't buy them from players), but I also can't collect 100 of these just to protest them being priced at 200pp. Makes me think maybe, just maybe their worth 200pp each and I'm just being cheep. Now elf blood on the other hand...head to LoY and hit the merchants. Lots of diffrent bloods/meats dropping there (might be a good time to feed chef drooga). Who knows, with lots of people hunting LoY the price of Iksar blood might even drop...but I doubt it.
Tailoring, why did I ever start tailoring? *sob*

              LOL - simple solution -

Goto OoT and farm a stack or two then simply put it up in the bazaar at 50pp each, let the idiots who think they've found a gold mine buy you out and keep rinsing and repeating till they give up or lower thier price down to match yours.
              Cigarskunk!
No more EQ for me till they fix the crash bug.
