  • ee rings at 192

    Hi all

I read somewhere in this forum that ee even with a 15% mod hammer or gloves that 192 was somehow bugged and you needed to be 193 to start them.

Last night after 50 or so attempts with teir dal armor i got my 1 skill up tto 192. Not wanting to farm another 100 essence of shadows i grabed a stack of ee tempers and bricks. I got my skill up to 193 after 3 clicks. The person who did 90 clicks to go from 192 to 193 just had a bad streak

How's 192 bugged when you gained skill from 192 to 193 by doing ee rings?

I don't think they were bugged - simply think it was a typo in the databases on VI's behalf.

What it was is that you couldn't do combines on EE rings until you had a certain skill level or higher. Just so happened to be that at that the lowest possible skill level the game would allow you to attempt a combine - it was trivial. Was stealth fixed in one of the patches.

So are you saying EE rings can be attempted at a lower level now? Would be great to confirm...

Nope, the gist of it is rings are trivial at 212, but cannot be attempted until your skill level is 220. If you are one of the lucky few with an XtC hammer, your effective skill is 220 at 192, so you get to go from 193-212 in a few hours. If you have a geerlock, you can only hit 211 and 212 making rings.

The idea of making these rings early got me so curious I ran to try to make the tempers for it.

                No go

So unless they changed the minimum level on the smithing parts but not on the brewing parts (which I doubt) the old rules still hold.

:? And for a moment there I was filled with such hope...

This has been confused many times over. Ill try and make it nice and simple.

he had a +15% hammer. Your effective skill needs to be 220 to make EE rings. With the 15% hammer and a 192 skill your efective skill is 220.8 or 220. So those lucky enough to have a +15% mod item can skill up a bit on EE rings. If you only have a geerlock you can only skill up 211 and 212 on the rings. Hope this is clear enough.

So is there a list here on the forums of all known +XX% skill mod items? along with their drop locations?
