188-227 Scream Steel & Sikles (constent update)

I did 200 Shadow Scream combines last night, and went from 229-235. I am still this morning trying to figure out if I am annoyed by that or not... I still have 100 of each substance left in the bank and will do my final combines tonight. I was honestly hoping 300 combines would end up capping me w/ geerlok from 229. But as it stands now after last nights run I am not holding my breath. Whether I get 0 skill up or I cap this is my last batch of SS armor. I refuse to ever set foot in HSM or TS after tonight EVER again!

The truly annoying thing about my skill ups last night was the fact that I failed on 10 humming orb combines. Yet I only failed maybe 2 boot combines... Does it seem odd to anyone else I bombed out on a super triv combines more than something that isn't even close to trivial yet?!

Im not one for writing stuff down but heres my skill ups so far

Any update to this data? I'm trying to get a rough estimate of the average number of combines needed to go from 188 to 250 on shadowscream. From the data provided in this thread so far, it seems like 20-25 combines per skillup is the average.

I wish Menion would post here. He collected 1k substances and 2k shadows and combined. I believe it took him 2 runs like that to make it to 240-somthing and he decided that 252 with geerlok was good enough for his purposes.

I'm getting there. Going to be farming non-stop till I get enough swirling shadows to do 460 attempts. Wish me luck, I'm at Smithing 217 at the moment!

Bracers?

Why is everyone doing bracers? Collars take you to 228 skill and the molds only cost 3 silver, whereas the bracers cost... ermmm... more (1g? 5g? 1p?). Though now that I'm on 227 skill, will be switching to bracers for all future combines.
