High Elf Cultural BP Luck!

Hi all, just wanted to post about this because frankly I am in shock myself.

I have a 190 smithing with a 5% geerlock.

On my first attempt made the Blessed Full Mithril Breastplate! (I failed on next two attempts) Woohoo! I wasn't expecting to succeed but had some BD's building up and figured I'd give it a whirl. With the relative low cost of BD's these days, I am wondering if I should try more combines or was I just EXTREMELY lucky? I think if I could avg one out of 5 successes it would be well worth it.

Its not quite so bad to Brute Force 1 BD pieces of cultural at low skill IF you get an extremely cheap stack of BD's (300pp each or even 263pp (NPC vendor price)).

The success rate wont shift from the min 5% unless your skill hits 210 or 220 (I forget which).

25 attempts at Helanic Tundra armor got me 2 Plate Bracers and a Visor.

Given that they weren't my BD's and those BD's probably cost about the price of ONE piece of armor (7500pp) and he got THREE bits.... we both won. Shame I only got 1 skill-up.

Of course the RNG could have reamed me and eaten 25 Blue Diamonds and given back no armor or skill-ups...
(Like last time I did 20 sickles!)

Only hard part was finding stuff for tempers (thanks Ice Giant camp peeps).

Brute forcing items that need 3 BD's however, would suck ass.
I'd imagine you'd burn cash so fast you may as well skill up on sickles!

Honestly, I think you were extremely lucky.

I tried the same thing while I was skilling up - I would get a whim and try a cultural piece, and fail.

I doubt you'll get 1 out of 5, when you consider that 250 smiths average 2 out of 5 (40%) success rate. But, if you have lots of money to burn, go for it.

I got Lucky as all Hell last night...

At skill 216 + geerlok, from 28 infused rings, I got:

Tundra Helanic Boots, Pauldrons, Arms, Belt, Helm AND
Artificers Sleeves, Bracer.

OMFG!!! I <3 you RNG!!!

The guy who gave me all the BD's was like WTF?? OMG?? WTF???

So was everyone in my guilld.

Considering my success chance should be like 10 or 15% maybe, I am IMPRESSED. I am pissed I got ZERO skill ups though

Needless to say one, VERY happy Barb Warrior walked off in his shiny new armor.
