  • Does anybody have a walkthrough for Livestone armor?

I've looked at what EQtraders has on the subject, and it is very difficult to make sense of it. It appears lumped together with other Planar armors and I'm unclear on how they each stack up. It appears that Livestone is the best planar armor there is outside of the Ornate armor. Is that right? Would anbody care to lay this out simply?

Each of the legendary plate armors follow a set pattern. The only thing that really changes set to set are the items necessary to make the needed items. You'll need the following for each combine:

Emblem - combination of smith and jeweler crafted
Correct number of folded sheets of the appropriate metal - smith crafted
    Appropriate temper - brewer made
Appropriate chain jointing - smith crafted
Tanaan smithing hammer - vendor sold
Superb leather padding - vendor sold
Appropriate full plate mold - vendor sold

I've never made livestone, so following the recipes given I would conclude the following:

For livestone plate the correct emblem is made by combining an earth mephit blood, diamond of earth (created by casting the spell imbue earth* which will require a raw diamond and an earth mephit blood as a component and the spell is a semi-quested item), an enchanted bar of immaculate steel (made by a smith combining a bar of the metal in a forge with a vial of distilled mana), and a blank emblem. The combine is done in a tanaan jeweler's kit by a jeweler.

Liquid stone temper is made by combining earth mephit blood, vial of liquified earth and a powedered chip of granite. The combine is done in a brew barrel by a brewer.

The chain jointing is made by combining a file, tanaan smithing hammer, an immaculate steel, and a temper in a forge. This results in two immaculate rings. One ring is then combined with the same hammer, file, temper, to form the jointing.

The folded sheets are made by combing two immaculate steel bricks with a temper and the tanaan smithing hammer.

*To make the imbue earth spell you would need a raw diamond, the spell imbue diamond sold in the cleric temple in NFP, and an earth mephit blood. These would be combined in a tanaan jewler's kit, by anyone regardless of jewelry skill, and receive the spell imbue earth as a result.

      Forget Livestone!

Thanks for the tip, but I've learned there's no way I'm making this armor for a long, long time. I did some research and discovered that most of the ingredients I need drop in the Plane of Earth. I'm probably 6 months away from gaining access to that plane, I'm guessing. Additionally, I hear that the drop rate for this stuff is miniscule at best. There is none being sold in the Bazaar on Tunare. I've even approached two of the higher end guilds about buying it from them and they said it was too rare to consider selling. Oh well. Maybe in a year...

The stuff is really insanely rare Gorus, last night I finally managed to make 4 tempers for the Earth items, I'm a member of Talisman on Tunare and we've been in Earth for literally months. The reason you probably won't see any for sale for awhile on Tunare is that the armor is VERY good for filling in slots where you don't have good items and the droprates are just atrocious atm, fairly certain most guilds have a "guild only" policy on a majority of elemental plane items at this time.

I'm the officer in Zeb;s elemental guild, who does the majority of the tradeskilling. I second the comments by the above poster.

Some items can be obtained in The Bazaar if you're on a server with multiple guilds in elemental planes. My server has four (3 guilds, one guild alliance) and you can find fire and earth bloods, all four mephit skins, the odd sap, fire and earth metals, fire silks, even some of the rarer items like bow staves and the pottery glaze components. I've been able to do three Fire silk legs and one Earth silk legs combine just from sold components. It's a matter of having people do XP there that don't value what can be made with the components, and who just want the quick plat from selling.

I agree with Demorgoth about Livestone plate. The temper components are very rare, and having to have three of one of the components before being to make the temper makes it unlikely you'll get tempers from the Bazaar. Although I have purchased one chip of granite there so far.

Biggest pain with all the PoP plate smithing is it takes 4 tempers for the smallest combine.
              1/ring
              1/jointing
              1/sheet
              1/final
And when the rare item is a temper item, well that about sums it up.
