  • Dwarven Cultural mischievious chain will not combine!

In following the instructions from Ragnar Everhot (and also posted on the EQ Traders recipe board), I cannot get any of the Underfoot or Mischievous chain armours to combine. This is a recipe that I have been trying to use for Mischievious chain bracer:

    1 Earthen temper
    1 Imbued Peridot
1 Set of infused brellium rings (yes, the one with the velium and BD)
    1 Dwarven smithy hammer
    1 bracer sectional mold
1 appropriate piece of leather armour (leather wristbands)

The only unknowns here are the sectional mold (which I bought in PoK from a dwarven vendor selling small sectional molds) and the leather armour, which I assumed I could simply buy a piece of small leather armour that fit what I was trying to make - in this case, a bracer. None of this will combine. What am I doing wrong?

If you are using the right forge in Kaladim, try it with a normal sized sectional mold--without the small/large in front of it. The leather is specified as small though.

I've never made dwarven cultural chain, but dark elf cultural chain uses chainmail patterns, not plate sectional molds.

Yes, I was using the Stormguard forge, and the recipe specifically states "appropriate sectional mold". On a whim, I tried chainmail pattern but that didnt work either. I also tried different banded mail "sectional mold" sizes but that didnt make a difference either. Thoughts?

Did you use the correct hammer? I know I toss around about four different hammers (well, actually they're in the bank :P ) and on occassion I have put in the wrong hammer myself.

I have made both Underfoot and Mischievous Chainmail items, although I have not made any recently. I used the small sectional molds sold outside Kaladim and the small leather armor sold inside S. Kaladim.

Your recipe looks good. Hmmm…. Some ideas to double check:

Dwarven Ale looks a lot like Earthen Temper
              Wrong Hammer
Wrong Mold (small sectional bracer mold)
Leather armor / mold mismatch (small leather bracer to go with bracer mold)
              Peridot not Imbued

              Good luck to you!

Make sure you are not using the mold for banded mail, but the one for plate. They are quite a bit more expensive. If you're not sure, check the price on the BP mold. If it's somewhere around 20p, then you've got the right vendor.

                  Mischievous success

Boleslav had the answer - I was using the wrong banded molds. I found the vendor in the little building outside the Kaladim gate who was selling SMALL sectional molds and those worked fine. My combines failed but at least the recipe worked.
