Does anyone have a reasonable feel on the success rate for planar smithing combines such as Nightmare plate or Hurricane plate? Is it more successful or less successful than high end cultural? Any ideas?

At 250, out of 10 tries on hurricane chain and nightmare plate, I failed hurricane arms once.
There is a FAR better success rate than with cultural. Too bad the darn components are so hard to farm. I get more aa points than drops of pure rain in BoT.

Night Terror Chain
I haven't done the plate - no real market for it on Quellious, except for some rather forlorn agnostic ogres (/bonk Sony!).
Done close to three dozen pieces of Night Terror Chain, however. Haven't kept track since the first 10 combines, but I run about 85% or so, maybe 90%. I'd guess that it doesn't trivial much higher than 260 or 270. A friend who has made a bit of the plate reports similar success. FAR easier than the cultural.Garshok

Success rate estimate
I don't have exact numbers, because it was depressing when I did it for the Underfoot armors, and didn't want to do that this time.
Night Terror Armor
Tunic - ~7 / 9
Greaves - ~7 / 8
Sleeves - ~6 /7
Bracelet - ~2/3
Boots - ~0/1
Plate bp- 1/1
Plate greaves - 1/1
That's a rough estimate. I have lost 3 Night Terror Emblem combines. some ring combines, but those are expected. Roughly 80% success. I am still using 65% for my cost estimates for profit estimate and profit margins for Bazaar pricing, and at what point I don't think it is worth my time.
Hurricane - 1/1 tunic. Just made it last night.
