  • Questions about Underfoot Plate Armor

I am getting to the point where I am looking at trying to make some Underfoot Plate for myself to replace some of my aging equipment. I know I have some skilling up to do before I can reasonably expect to succeed in making some. However, I have a couple questions.

    1) At what skill level do you believe I would have a realistic chance at succeeding in making myself some armor (Currently 194 skill plus geerlok)? Keep in mind that I consider a reasonable chance to be 20-33% chance at success for self equiping purposes. I know I can probably buy it cheaper, but I am just stubborn that way.

    2) Have any of you heard whether or not VI has any plans to fix Underfoot Plate Gauntlets and Boots? I noticed that they have the exact same stats in both the imbued and non-imbued form.

Last time I had a go at the math........

_Modified_ Skill and Chance (note that it can't be less than 5%).
    200 5%
    210 5%
    220 10.5%
    230 20.5%
    240 30.5%
    252 42.5%

That was based around reports of a 42%-ish percent chance at max effective skill (252 or 240+geerlok).

See the post http://mboards.eqtraders.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3788 for more detail.

Note that those numbers could be out as I dont know if any one has pinned down the trival for BD armor.

Pretty disheartening til you get a high skill but you can get real lucky.....
    And BD's are getting cheaper....!

EDIT: Come to think of it, maybe it was a 40% (4/10) reported average chance of success at max effective skill /shrug. I HATE MATHS!

Radodverge on Quellious started getting "acceptable" (about one in six ro so) results on Underfoot starting around 227 + Geerlock if I recall correctly. So 225 + Geerlock may be a good level to start trying to make your own armor. Maybe lower depending on your supply of blue diamonds and dwarven tempers.

I started around 215 and got about a 1/4-1/5 success rate, for some reason as I've skilled up(240 now) my success rate has gone from the 1-4 to like 1/7 so it seems like just pure luck to me somedays.

          hmm

My experience was dont start below 220 plus geerlock unless you have very deep pockets. I got VERY lucky and made an Underfoot bracer first attempt at 221 and had to kill a lot of HG to pay for the next success afterwards.

Above 225 things started to improve until I had a horror stretch of 16 fails on the Underfoot Greaves. Fortunately I had just sold some very expensive Underfoot to a well heeled player and my inventory survived!

I make armour mainly for myself and guild but sell to order to fund my
          habit

Its hoped that the new Trades changes after LOY will fix those bloody annoying imbued peices that are the same as unimbued!!!! GRR!!
