Shadowscream Data

Just finished up my first batch of Shadowscream. Here is the data:

160 attempts, 10 skill ups, 255 STR (100 wis, 80 int), skilled 188-198.
I made gorgets all the way and had about 85%-90% success rate.

Substances: I spent 2 nights on each substances, about 3-5 hours each night.

Shadows: Averaged a stack of Swirling Shadows in shadeweaver solo. I almost always had help in TS with shadows (thanks to Azzuron, Lickin, Fyade and Ailiasmoon) and the drop per hour varied; about 30-40 per hour.

/vent on: I would really like to see the shadows become NO DROP and the NO RENT be removed. I lost 42 shadows from the D'Ro server crash this weekend and the wasted time between me and especially my friends still eats at me /vent off

I'm thinking of doing two more runs of SS (400 total) and then I might move on to sickles or culture as a change of pace.

Thanks to all of you on this board for giving me the inspiration and the renewed hope in smithing I had lost after the triv nerf. The SS guides and information have been wonderful

WTG, thats some nice skillups per combine you got there. Hopefully it will continue right up to the 220's for you...

I'm still collating my figures, but I was getting 1 skillup per 8-9 combines from 188 to 200, I'll try to post my skill-up rates tonight. If you lose Swirling Shadows due to a server crash then petition. I got my stack back the next day.

Switch to Bracers Sorbukar, there is no supporting evidence, but I believe in skilling up on the lowest triv available....

I went from 188-195 on 144 SS bracer combines. Switched to field plate helms for the next 4 points(about 45 combines I think) then switched back and got the last point to 200 skill with 8 more SS bracer combines.
Can't wait till tonight when I break 200

Guess I got lucky.

I got from 188 to 199 on 90 shadowscream combines + 20 sickle combines (only 1 skill up).

That's at 280 Str and 280 Wis.

That's 1 skill up per 10 combines (similar but not quite as good as Kradlum's rate of 1 skill-up per 8 combines).

However, I never did a bigger run than 15 shadowscream combines.
Typically I would clear TS Shadows once (or twice) then spiritstone off, do the combines and then Gate back to TS.
(Seemed like more fun than waiting for repops! I kill sh1t too fast with 61 shaman pet hasted w/weaps & primal avatar + DoTs).

Who knows what zoning, etc does to the RNG.
