  • How to Locate a GM Smith ....

#1: Do NOT Post in this forum asking for one; it is against the DenMom's Rules and will likely get deleted.

(#1a: Bad joke removed so as to try and get back on the DenMom's good side - or at least off her bad side)

#2: Post in the SERVER-SPECIFIC marketplace forums. Yes, you may have to scroll down the forum page a bit more to find it. You probably already scrolled at least once to find the smithing forum. Do it just a bit more....

(#2a: Also CHECK your server's Marketplace forum; most have GM tradeskiller lists stickied at the top of the forum--nice and EASY to find--which list most tradeskillers who are willing to make items to order.)

#3: Ask around in your servers auction channel - if they do smithing to order, odds are good that they /join auction (or whatever your server's equivalent is)

#4: If you know any *other* GM smiths on your server - or you see someone in auction channel advertising that they are making "Heraldic to order," "Underfoot to order," etc. - contact them and politely ask them if they know of any smiths of the persuasion desired.

Odds are most GM smiths on the server know (of) most other GM smiths on the server, and may be able to either give you the name of the desired GM smith, or someone who is likely to know if such a GM smith exists on the server who does public work.

    #5: See rule #1

95th Dreadlord, Povar-Quellious, 300 Ogre Grand Master Smith, 300 all skills
(glad the climb to 300 is finally over)

    Zopharr
95th Priest of Brell, Povar-Quellious, 300 Dwarven Grand Master Smith, 300 all skills
(holds his 15% smithing trophy in his off hand and pretends to dual-wield - and hopes the Holy Dirt of Brell he's carried for twelve years will have a use in the new expansion)

    Rishathra
95th Shaman of Inny, Povar-Quellious, 300 Troll Grand Master Smith
(got so tired of looking for a troll smith for armor that I made one)

    Marzanna
    95th Necromancer, Povar-Quellious, 300 Tinker - Tailor
    (still working on Solder, Spy)

Ignore rule number 1a ... follow rule number one. Period. Should you, after being pointed to these rules, decide that you don't give a hoot about site rules and proceed to argue with the folks that point you to the posting rules, the DenMom is fully within her rights to ban you from posting. If you want "free" advertising on my dime (yes, board traffic costs money, yes anything that doesn't come from donations comes from my pocket), you'll keep it in the Marketplace.

This site and these boards eat way too much of my time and money for me to NOT get grumpy when folks decide that the rules don't apply to them.

Read the Visitor's Corner posts BEFORE you post.

#6: Worse comes to worse, take the money you were going to spend on armor and build your skill.

#6a: More than likely, if you cannot find someone that can make that culture's armor, chances are that you can own the market if you act upon it.

#6b: Know this, if you follow #6a: Smithing is a long, difficult, pompus son of a Troll; it has it's rewards at the end of the road, however.

7, there is a good possibility that the GM smiths on your server do read the marketplace forum but simply chose to ignore you

7a: or they simply do not reply here, because they don't want to get tell-bombed every time they log in. They may be interested in working with you and trying to catch you in game (or if you leave contact email, by that).
