I have an issue with the quest. i completed the tunic and got my work order from master barkhem. i then went to a guard koby and gave him my order. i was given a shield and i then went to do combine in the forge. when i got back he had a shield on his person. i then destroyed the sheild i have and though i would go get another note from master barkhem. but alas he wants me to start all over again. it took me 2 days to collect the carapace for the mallet. i really do not want to do this again.

i have seen there is a time limit on this once you have the shield. is there a secret forge closer to the guards or is the quest broken. no one eles was in tht ezone the whole time i was doing this part of the quest so i know someone did not gank me on the quest. any tips would be helpful. i an at 175 in smithing. thank you for your time in advance.

After you make the successful combine on the shield, stop at Master Berkham (spelling?) and get aother repair order. If guard has shield when you return, just give the new repair order, then the shield you combined. Did it this way twice yesterday....either jboots are too slow or something is wrong with the quest. lol

The time you have between getting the sheild and returning, is very very tight. You can't afford any delays when doing it.

Aye I had to use a second note for all four shields, and just completed this part of the quest today.

The quest is broken. I did all 4 today. Grab the second work order and deetroy the second shield you get. Actually this break makes the quest much easier to do.
