  • Questions for Dwarven Master Smiths

So my dwarven smith is now 229 skill, plus a Geerlok. I've been patiently selling old cultural and farming Shadowscream to get my skill up, but I'm about ready to start on the Blue Diamond stuff.

    So my questions:
    1. For which pieces can I expect a reasonable success rate at this skill?
    2. Which pieces are the most popular to sell? Imbued or non-imbued?

I appreciate any advice you can offer! And if anyone on Xev server is interested in buying, don't hesitate to send Punko a tell.

    Odjick Gaflarglebargen, 43 Warrior

at your skill you'd have pretty good success, not much less then a 250. On my server bracers were most popular and easiest for me to make , then legs, but obviously 1 sheet items usually would be easier then 3. all underfoot or mischevious plate. un-imbued not much a market.

I would expect around 1/3 success rate with your current skill. I sell BP, Legs, Bracers, Boots, and Vambraces fairly regularly, and everything else a bit more slowly.

I do sell some Brellium as well. I just keep it on the mule until it sells.

        What to sell?

You should have a good success rate, close to one in three with a geerlock or trophy. Not sure that one piece items are necessarily easier - success rate seems about the same for all pieces for me, except that I seem to have had slightly *worse* luck with bracers since Sony changed how resists worked. (Maybe they upped difficulty on bracers when resists became more important relative to level, or I've just had a lousy RNG--but then again, cheaper to fail on one sheet items rather than three sheet items.)

My best sellers seem to be bracers, legs, and BPs. A few shoulders here and there, but most dwarven pallies now seem to prefer the ODS (despite the lower AC) because of the mana savings. Most other pieces I've sold have either been as part of a full visible suit, or someone buying a full suit piece by piece. I've sold a bit of Brellium to gnomish SKs, but that craze seems to be over (two of the four I sold two have stopped playing their gnomes), and I would expect the new gnomish clockwork armor to get most of the small gnome SK market.

I'd recommend checking with established smiths on your server to determine pricing in order to avoid a "race to the bottom." If you want to sell primarily in bazaar, and others sells mostly by special order (word of mouth advertising, etc.), you can probably knock off a few kpp without affecting their sales while enhancing your own - and maintaining profit margin for all of you. If you are all selling mostly in bazaar, then you need to work something out.

Most of the smiths on Quellious talked about prices when the cultural armor first came out, and in my opinion it helped out immeasureably.
