I would KILL (someone I liked even) for that 15% item...

    Nice chart.

So were you able to do this because of the device I take it?
I thought these trivialed at 212 and were not attemptable (sp) till 220.

That's right, they are triv at 212 and restricted combine ultil you have 220 RAW skill or a MODIFIED skill of 220 or higher. So it IS a very nice item to have, saves a TON on skill up attemps.

Gotta view this as an unrealistic skillup progression. Not many people have the 15% modifier and not many will have much chance at getting it either.

So with a gerlock I'll be able to do these around 208 or 209 until 212?
Well if thats true its ok cuase I have toons of the ethreal stuff that needs converting.

Nod, I had saved up those bricks since PoP opened, just in case I got lucky and got a 15% item. When XtC coughed up 2 of the hammers one night, one of 'em went to me, and off I went on my smithing spree!

I'm up to 216 atm on Fine Plate (will post that data later). 2 more points and I can hang up practice combines!! (218*1.15=250)

The brick combines require a modified skill of 220. So, with a 5% mod, you can start at 210 (not much savings :/), with 10%, 200 exactly, and with 15%, 192. I had already gained 200 with Fine Plate bracers, but would otherwise have taken advantage of the relatively easy combine path of ethereal bricks.

It also requires a brewing skill of 210+ to get the ethereal tempers. Well worth it, imho, to master both skills. Minotaur Hero Brews, while tedious, can be made with all store-bought materials, and are downright fun compared to smithing.

                yay

I used this method too, works very well.

Cost me a fortune in pp / time to get from 188 to 192 on Acrylia Chain though :0

It took 189 combines to go from 192 to 200 skill.

Then another 197 to go upto 116 with EE Rings.

I can now safely say my trader mule has the largest supply of EE rings in the bazar

Yes that +15% XTC Hammer is a pain.

6 or 7 XTC kills and not ONE hammer....

Then last week when I had logged to sleep my guild whacked him and TWO dropped.

Oh well Shadowscream ain't that bad.

And I am hoping I can get the +10% belt from Sanctus Seru once I hit 200 skill and can skill up on Etheral Bricks from 200 to 212.

With Geerlok, you still need to have a skill of 210 before you can attempt Ethereal Smithing/Tailoring.

Yeah, it's only 2 points... but it's 2 easy points.
