Blocks of Velium

I have problems getting enough of these, anyone have any input on how to get them as easy as possible. So far I have only been bazaar farming them for about 50pp per block... I cant buy enough though. Anyone know a place where they drop that they would like to share? 8)

I have only been getting them very half-heartedly myself from the Bazaar, but found the drop rate of them is pretty good in CC. I normally get about 4 odd an hour, thats farming with a 29 enchanter and a 60 Cleric as backup, and not quite killing all the miner spawns around the entrance of C.C

The easiest ways I could think of would be to buy them on ebay or post to your server message board the following "paying 1000pp for blocks of velium, contact me in game".

Without knowing zone owernership, they drop in CC, TofS, SS and Velks. Easiest of those would be to wack all the ry'gorr miners in CC or go to velks and auction that you want blocks (although someone might try to coin you if you do that - try trading peridots for them in that case) - unless there are spiders open, then kill them. All the places they drop are listed on the traders site, no secrets to share.

Places to find Velium Blocks

Velketors Labyrinth drops a decent proportion of block - camping the spiders at the uppers camp.

I also found Tower of Frozen Shadows a reasonably good place. Get up to the 5th floor - the one with the wedding. The Golem Ushers drop velium at a decent rate and are a walk in the park for my lvl 49 necro pet. Repop is about 15 minutes for 10 golems. If you manage to get a pause you can kill the wedding party in the hope of getting the wedding ring drops. Just don't do the bridesmaids - too much effort for no return at all (sounds like real life bridesmaids to me).

I bought about 10 blocks from the merchants in CC. You need good faction with them or able to sneak. Costs about 40pp with max CHA.
Just did this last night actually. Got all my veliums and turn them into rings and sheets. Now to farm those **** annoying geos for one more emeralds.

I agree with Samoht. CC is a great place to pick them up. there are 4 (maybe more?) vendors in CC that are well worth checking out every 3 days or so. Thurgadin is also a pretty good place to pick up Velium off the vendors. If you're a Vendor junkie like me, PoK and the Bazaar are something you simply can't pass up as well. (I find PoK/Bazaar/Thurga the 3 zones where the most things are sold to vendors - RZ server, your mileage may vary as it were).

I rarely buy them from Traders anymore, because I usually find enough there while looking for the 18 or so other items I chase after in my smithing hunt. Good luck

Velks has best drop rate imo

Cystal Caverns has less drop rate but level 30ish mobs which are easy to farm.

I used to hunt in Velks quite a lot. But I got most of the blocks from merchants in Thurgadin. The 8 merchants in the bank are best but the jewelry, tailoring, smithing, and fletching shops are also good. The taverns usually don't have many, but occasionally you'll be surprised. The merchants in Crystal Caverns are also a great source.

Crystal Caverns. It's perma-camped at times, but it still yields the best and fastest source of Velium for me at least. You can also usually find folks there farming it ready to sell. Just do a few auctions in the zone and you may walk out with more than enough.

My primary T-skill is tailoring, and I need small pieces and small bricks for the studs and bonings on Velious armors. I spend a fair amount of time in CC farming velium and always come up with a few lg bricks and blocks along the way, which I save for smiths such as yourself.

At the rate noted above, you'd need 9 small bricks or 27 small pieces to make one block. Whereas, I can only break a block or a large brick down into 1 small brick or 2 small pieces. I'd gladly trade you a block for just a couple small bricks or a few small pieces. Win-Win!
