would you pay 15p for HQ metal rings? these are the rings used in making ornate chain.

the reason i'm asking, is i'm farming stuff that also drops fs weaps, and there is a forge in zone, but my faction sux and i can't sell to merchants. So, my choices are leave zone and sell the weapons for about 5p each (reducing fighting time AND have to summon/buff pet again), or forge them into something stackable. I've forged them into HQ metal rings.

the rings only sell to npc's for about 5p each, since it takes 3 weapons (15p) to make 2 rings (10P), the only way to gain a profit off my skills would be to bazaar sell them. Since a block of HQ ore cost about (actually, i have no idea how much it cost, i've always farmed them), ok, since you sometimes need to do the ore restocking quest to be able to buy hq ore from npc vendors, would 15p per ring be worth your time to not have to make the ring yourself? not have to do the restocking quest?
I have about 20 stacks of these now, surely someone needs to skill up past ornatechain on the Innoruuk server.

    I would not.

Perhaps 10p the blocks cost about 17p so 15p is quite high to just save a few clicks.

If it was costing me 17 pp to make the rings and he was selling them in the Bazaar for 15 pp, then yes, I would buy them and save me the headache of making the things. Plus, there will always be the 5% chance that you fail the combine to make the rings. If you just buy them, you save a bit, save time and you never have a combine failure.

I say to you, go try and sell them. The worst thing that could happen is they don't sell.

Someone looking to powerskill smithing would. As long as the rings are cheaper than padding, it's cheaper to buy your rings than other people's padding.

        I myself wouldn't.

I wouldn't. Remember, for the 17 (or whatever it costs you to buy one large HQ brick) you get TWO rings when you file it down.

10 plat each, sure; but 15 each, heck no.

The only way to be sure is to offer them in the bazaar at your desired price and see if you get any bites. Personally, I would be tempted at 10pp but not at 15pp but as someone already said, some powerskiller might snap them up.

I'd agree, put them up for sale and see what happens. Start at 15pp (or whatever) and see if they sell over the course of a couple days. My best money makers are tradeskill "stuff" that folks don't generally want to do the pre-combines/farm themselves. Sales are very sporadic on this type of stuff, give it some time. Made ~3000pp while I watched a movie last night

ok, if i had 20 stacks for sale, at say 12p each, think they'd sell?
what if i had some patterns on my mule also, at about cost? or maybe at the cost for someone with a cha of 60 (i'd buy them with a cha of 178). would that be more apealing? hq ring and patterns all from the same vendor?

I think the main problem is, that being an item that's so easy to make, most people would just make them. However if you set your vendor up at the forge then you might have a chance of people seeing the rings, noticing the patterns when they went to buy them, and skilling up right there.

great idea, but who in their right mind would attempt to use the forge in the bazaar for skilling up with,,?! I could see making an item or 2, but not longterm skilling up. The lag is rediculious. I always head to SH to use their forge.

You're market would be for people with alot of money looking to power level smithing. They do exist, I used to be one of them (til all that stuff went trivial).

If I can spend an extra 1 or 2k (regular cost subtracted from your cost should round out to between 1 and 2k) to save myself 100+ clicks, trust me I will. 12 to 15p for HQ rings will sell most likely, especially considering the HQ ore vendor has a limited supply. High level players with alot of money looking to GM tradeskills for the high level recipies will shell out more money the more TRIVIAL steps you save them. Anything that will save time and save having to do trivial combines so one can get to the combines that allow skill ups will always have a market. Don't gouge though, if prices get too high even those of us with a few hundred k in the bank will just do the trivial stuff ourselves. Also working to your advantage is that with fine plate you not only have to deal with pading but making the plate from unstackable ore and lugging around unstackable molds, with ornate chain you have almost all stackable items to work with so instead of making 30 or 40 tries then having to run back to the vendors you can do hundreds without having to move if you find a forge close to any npc vendor to sell back the ornate chain sucesses.

As for having patterns on your vendor I would say save yourself the trouble, most people may not even notice the patterns on your vendor only the rings.

But to answer your question I say 15p is fine, 12p will probably sell you out a little faster.

With my clip plane down and new models off, I don't have lag at all in the bazaar, I've plunked myself down there many a time to do a couple hundred subcombines or in one case a skill up run when I found a player selling more of an item than I could carry away.

                              what zone

I was just curious what zone you are fighting in that has a forge and mobs drop FS weapons. I have been thinking about making my own HQ metal but since i can't gate, getting from hunting zone to a forge would be a pain. Or if anyone else knows of a zone (not a town please, I don't like to kill mobs some newbie might need) where mobs drop FS weapons and has a forge I'd love the info. Thanks
