Portable Forge?

Is the quest forge provided when doing a PoP armor quest effectively a portable forge? I am flagged and could buy one for 500p, and hear tell it poofs after you do your quest armor combine.

I am curious whether any smith performed any normal forge combines before using the Furnace of Ro (I believe it's called) for the quest combine... if so, this may be an expensive (yet extremely useful) portable forge.

Nope, won't work.

Quest containers of this sort don't work any other way.
