  • Elemental plate--hurricane in particular......omg

is it just me or does it seem like you need WAY too many tempers just to make a single attempt? If i'm reading it right if i wanted to make a single hurricane gauntlet I would need at least:

1 storm rider blood, 1 drop of pure rain, 1 dust of stone i forget (3 for 4 ratio on these so that's not terrible)= 1 storm temper

1 Storm emblem (which you dont lose on failure)

so for guantlets you would need

1 temper for the rings (yields 2 rings)
1 temper for the chain jointing (made with the rings)
2 tempers to make 2 sheets of electrfied copper
1 temper to make the final attempt.

Lets just say on average even with GM that you will lose 1 temper in the mix of all things.....that's 6 TEMPERS to make ONE attempt at some armor that the ingredients are already unbelievably rediculous to obtain. If I paid what my server prices tend to be i'm sure i'd be paying 35-40k just to make an attempt on an item that would fail 50% of the time max skill.

Does'nt this seem a little insane to people?

All the elemental chain/plate armors suffer from this. A change I'd like to see is using ethereal tempers to temper the metals into what you need for the final combine and using the actual temper for that armor for the final combine. This would be akin to cultural where you temper the components with dwarven ale(I'm a dwarf) then for the final combine you use the Earthen temper to meld it all together. Either the change I listed above would be a good idea OR raise the drop ingredients to a resonable level, it takes like 8-9 tempers to make a BP for the smithed stuff, my guild has been in the elemental planes for like a month now and still hasn't found enough temper ingredients to make a bracer in CHAIN for some of the planes. We're like 1 soapstone, all the air fragments(confirmed missing by the denmum) and like 2 chips of granite short of making anything from Earth. The temper rarity hurts both smiths and tailors since tailors use the tempers to make studs for their leather armor line.

yep the armor is subpar for the armor thats made

Even the bd cultural armor suffers from this (and its exactly works exactly how you suggest the elemental ones should work)

Hurricane isn't Elemental, it's PoStorms, which is only a teir 2 plane.

The elemental plate is: Inferno Plate -- Fire, Farwater Plate -- Water, Livestone Plate -- Earth, and Windessence Plate -- Air

The temper requirements on these are no less insane, infact no Windessence armor has been made because one of the temper components isn't dropping at all. . .

I like the idea to use Ehteral Temper to make the sheets though. Here's why. It only takes two tempers to make a Chain piece of 1 or 2 rings, and only two and a half to make a 3 ring piece. Meanwhile, you have more than double the temper used on a plate piece. To make things worse, comparatively the chain armor is much better for it's classes than the plate is. A double plate whammy.

The same could be said for the CT armors. The increase in blood drops has made Tae Ew Chain ridiculously easy for the quality of some of the pieces while the plate is still very difficult to get components for.
