  • DE Cultural Pricing Scheme

My DE Necro has hit 245 smithing very recently, and in a blitz of excitement has outfitted herself and 2 good friends in the Dark Prince Sovereign chain - I'm still somewhat in shock that I can actually make this stuff and that I'm done farming in Hollowshade

Now folks are coming out of the woodwork with "all the stuff" to make pieces that they want - the implication is that they want no, or very cheap, combines... I've worked too **** hard to be suckered into that one, and I'm very aware of wanting to be in harmony with other GM smiths selling armor on my server (I'm on E'ci)...

I've used search here (been reading these boards for a long, long time, too ), checked my server's trade board and kept an eye on prices in the Bazaar...

So I'm curious as to what constitutes a fair fee for a combine - I've got reservations about even doing them because of the avalanche of questions I get about the sub-combines - I don't want to be some sort of "information, please" person while trying to do my own thing in-game and at the same time I think there may be a reasonable middle ground here...

I know this answer is different for everyone, what I'm seeking here is data points in order to find out what feels right to me...

    TIA

On Fennin Ro I charge from between 6-8k per ring/sheet for DE cultural. Really depends on demand. Some pieces sell very well such as plate bracers and others do not.

As far as combines are concerned, I do not do paid combines. Refer to this excellent thread http://mboards.eqtraders.com/phpBB2/...t=paid+combine.

Personally, I want to avoid the situation where I am paid to combine someone a piece of DE cultural and they turn around and sell it. I don't want to create extra competition for myself and other smiths who have earned the right to make and sell DE cultural. I have found a very good way to answer people who expect deep price cuts for providing some elf blood or a BD or two. Whenever I get these questions, I tell them my standard price for the piece they want and offer to buy the supplies from them.

    Good luck.

on Rallos the stuff barely moves

Ive had a dark prince regent bracer in the bazaar for several weeks at 5k and it hans't moved.

Cloak at 8k and it hasn't moved

Soverign chain cloak at 6k and it hasn't moved

      sigh

Probably going to lower my price to 2k+1k per a sheet if this keeps up

At this time, it appears I'm the only person on CT that is making this for the market. I mostly only keep the plate on my merchant, as it appears nobody wants chain. I've had a tunic on mule for the longest time for 12k and nobody seams to want it. While plate on the other hand sells much easier. I think casters just aren't aware of the stats they can get off this stuff. But my pricing for plate ranges from 5k-16k. Generally I price visable pieces higher then non-visable. These prices are based on average BD purchased for 500pp on CT

        Plate:
        BP-16k, legs/cloak-15k, helm/arms/gloves/shoulders-10k, boots/bracer/waist-8k, neck/face-5k,

        Chain:
        Tunic-12k, Bracers 6k(when I have them available)

As for doing combines, if they go out and make all the sub combines and all I have to do is hit the combine on the final, I usually only charged about 1k on suscess. If I have to do more, then I usually charged 1k per sheet/ring. But at this time, I no longer do combines. I find that it is difficult meeting up with people at the forge. Either myself is busy raiding/xping, or they are busy, and takes forever to get together. Thats why I prefer to take an order, put on mule on other account, and leave in bazaar for them to come pick up.

Anyone have any thoughts on "old" cultural-- or does it move at all anymore?

I know this doesn't pertain to DE culteral, but I have recently started making High Elven culteral chain. I keep my prices reasonable by farming the expensive temper components and can't seem to keep the Enchanted stuff in stock. I will sell out my inventory (usually anywhere from 3 to 5 items) within 2 or 3 days max. Enchanted Leggins are my hottest item as I have found there are not to many leg armor options for casters under 500 pp. I sell mine for 250 pp at the moment. My Imbued items on the other hand have not sold, but I have only had them in stock for 1 day and they are the more expensive items (Leggins and Tunic). I can't wait till my skill gets up a bit higher so I can try some Enchanted Elven Plate armor.

My buyers have been mostly High Elven casters, but I have had a couple of High Elven Clerics buy a couple items as well. I might do better if the Wood Elven and Half Elf Druids/Rangers/Rogues figure out they can use the stuff, but so far it has just been High Elves that buy my Old Culteral Chain.

Oh well. At least I am selling my product at the moment. But I seem to be the only Blacksmith on Ayonae Ro at the moment with Elven Chainmail for sale.
