  • Acrylia Armor

Ok, i'm 51 now, i'm at the point (smithing and tailoring) of doing acrylia stuff. Is there ONE zone i can farm to get all the items below?

    essence of wind
crushed windstone (combine 2 windstones in a mortar & pestle)
    small pieces of acrylia
    block of acrylia
    small brick acrylia

if not, where do i need to go to get them? what item(s) are gonna be the difficult one(s) to get?

how many combines should i expect to do to get past the acrylia part? I'm thinking of doing Acrylia Chain sleeves from 188 to 202, then probably jumping right to the Acrylia Plate gorget till 219 (if i remember correctly the small plate collar mold was les than a plat) then the helm till 234.

would it be wiser to stick with the chain a longer. I have no clue as to the drop rates, so i'm not sure if the chain or plate will be easier to get the components for.
(p.s. this is from the FAQ page Posted: Wed Jan 29, 2003 8:10 am Post subject: Q: Where is the best place to farm Acrylia?

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Q: Where is the best place to farm Acrylia?
A: The 'best place' is a matter of opinion and level. Grimlings in Tenebrous Mountains, Grimling Forest (although rarely) and Acrylia Caverns all have a chance of dropping acrylia. Sambata in Dawnshroud in the cave also have a change to drop them as well as the ones in Scarlet Desert. Basically, find the place that is the most comfortable to hunt at your level, and that is probably the best place."

Acrylia also drops frequently in The Deep.

my main question is where ALL the items might drop in one zone

    All of these items :

    essence of wind
crushed windstone (combine 2 windstones in a mortar & pestle)
    small pieces of acrylia
    block of acrylia
    small brick acrylia
can be found in the Tenebrous Mountains. Cral Ligi Soldiers/Warlords drop the Essence of Wind and Windstones most predominantly. Grol Baku Soldiers drop small and large bricks of acrylia the most predominantly. Grimling Orefinders drop blocks of acrylia most predominantly. Grimling Laborer drops small pieces of acrylia most predominantly. These are just my personal findings and they are far from scientific (well, I have no data to back it up...only my memory). I hope it serves you well.

The first thing that you are going to discover about trying to skill up on acrylia is that windstones are so incredibly rare that you will wonder why you took up smithing to begin with. After 3 or 4 days of farming and getting half a dozen windstones you will change your mind and begin looking for another way to skill up to 250 that doesnt require windstones.
      One word of advice.

        Koner has it right.

Shadowscream is for skilling up on.

Do the Acrylia to make a bit of pocket change.

Substances are easy to farm in Hollowshade Moor with a bard and an AoE'er.

Greater/Lesser Shadows in Twilight Sea are monotonous but drop more swirling shadows than lesser shades in Shadweavers Thicket plus the named Shadows drop some good weapons to sell in bazaar. I solo the Shadows by staying on the Island to the north and single pulling with my Nightmarewood Compound Bow. Gotta swim a bit if I get a "target is to far away" message but I can shoot bow from underwater and swim back to safe spot.
