Sunshard Ore

I have been having a tough time trying to find a zone that I can farm that will drop this. I tried WoS and killed a ton of mobs for one. Tried Blackfeather Roost (due to faction couldn't go all the way up the nest) and got only one. Plus it did not have a lot of mobs.

Is there a good spot to do this? Or is it just that rare?

I think it is pretty uncommon - maybe a TBS zone? Like Katta or Buried Sea? Alla's has "lots" of sources for it in Undershore, Koda'Taz, BoT, Plane of Storms and Plane of Air?

I spent over an hour and cleared one of the wings with the jords and not one ore dropped. Chronal does not seem to be nearly as bad. So I am not sure it can be considered uncommon but rare but of course I could be wrong. Just wondered where others farmed for the ore and maybe I could try that with better success.

what are you farming it for? Is there maybe some other path we could suggest? You put this under smithing, seems to me the regular ores for templates might be better for smithing. I know I personally used Sunshard ore to max tinkering and spell research...but I used regular ores like titanium, cobalt, etc for smithing

The best place I have found to farm sunshard ore is either the bazaar from others and from vendors in the lobby, pok, bazaar, and other common areas where players tend to congregate.

I would not at all recommend sunshard ore as a skill up path for smithing. It is very difficult to farm a global drop as well as expensive to make compared to the alternatives.

I have smithing maxed out. I need it for making the orbs which is pottery and there is precious few in the bazaar. But I will check the vendors in the GL, POK and the bazaar. I never used sunshard ore for skill ups thankfully. Cobalt and a few others made more sense plus were relatively cheap to buy in the bazaar.

I wasn't sure which forum to post it in. Perhaps I should have put it in pottery
