  • Medium Quality Ore

Hello I am working my Smithing skill it is 115 now. I need to know if there is any where that Medium Quality Ore drops of mobs? (like high quality does). I am paying 23p per medium quality ore it's killing me lol. I am using it to make Medium Quality folded sheet of Metal. Let me know what you think guys. If you would like to add any thing that you think mite help a young smith please let me know.
    Thanks Kalore

    improving skill

I don't know of any mob that drops MQ ore. They may be out there, but I never found one or read about one either.

For further skill-ups I'd recommend simply farming for Fine Steel weapons and then convert each and everyone into HQ ore.

It's a bit tedious, but depending on your level you can either do it easily or get experience at the same time. I loved Sol A for this. You can get bags full of FS weps and lots of HQ bricks at the same time.

FS weapons can be converted into small bricks of HQ ore, and sometimes you'll get a small piece or two at the same time. 3 small bricks can be combined into a large brick. If you figure that a FS weapon sells for about 5pp to a vendor and it costs about 17pp to buy a large brick from a vendor when they have any, you don't even really lose any money by doing this. I also found that I could sell my ornate gorgets (silver, electrum and gold) back for more than it cost to make (if I had farmed the HQ ore) so I was making a little money while doing this.

      Sell the FS

Don't convert the FS into ore, the failure rates make it more profitable to just sell it and buy the HQ ore.

Hrmm, I never had any difficulty in converting FS to HQ ore. Actually in all the HQ rings I've made (about 3 or so stacks) I have yet to have one conversion fail. I'm not using geerlock when I do it, but my int = 253.

MQ is vendor-bought only... as has been repeatedly said many times in many threads.

You might consider making embroidering needles.

They are trivial at 122 and require a needle mold, metal bits, celestial essence, and a flask of water.

I worked some of the ornate chain armors before switching over to the fine plate. I farmed fine steel in SolA and in Rathe Mountains, but found it less cumbersome (and no more expensive) to just sell the fine steel (with charisma gear) and buy the ore outright from vendors.

              Medium Quality Sheets

Maybe I missed it somewhere but what are the Medium Quality Sheets the vendors sell for? Have yet to see a recipe requiring them. :?:

They are used for some of the shields.
