Is there a minimum level you need to do stalwart armor??

Im level 76. My smithing skill is 336 (with trophy, et al)....tried to make stalwart armor...can make the vanadium templates but when i try the actual armor combine....it says.......that seems correct but something is wrong, Perhaps there is something more you need to learn to be able to perform the combine.....or something like that.....the armor is usable for level 81....do i need to be level 81 to make it????

You need to find the vendor outside the guild lobby with the stalwart smithing recipe book (will be for your race) and scribe that book and then use the tradeskill UI to search for the recipe. You cannot experiment to learn the stalwart recipes.
