Kiztent is correct.
But to clarify.
Between 400k and 1million plat is a healthy estimate. Probably more often on the high side, but it really depends on your servers economy(how much/how many you can sell), your success rate(very low at first), your connections(supply of imbued emeralds/celestial essences), and your luck.
If you don't have at least a few hundred K to plunk down before you start, you shouldn't even consider it as an exclusive skillup method.Arrakeen Naed'Shoj

With no failures, a set of the three sickle sub-components cost about 315 pp to make. Therefore, making enough sub-components for a "stack" of final combinations (the sub-components do not stack) would cost a minimum of 6,300 pp and fill six ten-slot containers.Scapa Orkney, 64th level Wood Elf Druid of Tunare

Seriously... this is NOT a sane option for skillups, unless of course you are a masochist.
Are you a masochist?

I actually did MCS's for the majority of getting from 201 to 240, here are the numbers as best I could figure them.
1 MCS costs me 336.525pp. (assuming no failures on any of the combines)
It took me 670 MCSs and 72 other combines to get those 39 skill points. Thats a total of 742 combines, and a skillup rate of 1 every 19.03 combines.
Now, numbers (and prices) based on my actual 670.
670*336.525 = 224,471.75pp
Again this assumes I never failed on any subcombine. Projecting a basic (very) failure rate of 5% (this just assumes I didn't get to make 1 out of every 20 sickles that I wanted to) means I paid to make 703 sickles.
703*336.525 = 236,577.075
Now, add in 12 C3's for my Druid for Imbues at 50pp a pop (I can do about 360 combines before it wears off, rough guess here) for 600pp
Now (getting nitpicky, but its a cost) add in a Mortar and Pestle for Celestial Essences at 1 m&p/batch of 20 sickles, and its 49.5pp
Total this all up (off the 703 combine) and I spent a minimum of 237,226.575pp
Assuming I would have had the exact same success rate had my other 72 combines been MCSs and not various other things and again adjusting for the 5% failure rate (ups the combines to 780), and that price jumps to:
MCSs 262,489.5pp
C3 650
M&P 58.5
Total 263,189pp
Now if you want to get into the area of rough estimates, it would have cost me (again assuming the same skillup ratio) 6,748.667pp per skill raise. So, if my skillup ratio were to hold true to finish out to 250, you can chalk another 67,486.667p onto the board, or a grand estimated total of:
330,675.667pp to get from 201 to 250.
Hope that made sense and helped
