  • Sabertoth Tigers

What the hell do you have to do to get these to spawn? First day 15/20 but im sure all i saw were tigresses. now 3 days later 4 hours each day and ZERO. And to top it off the Tigress and only one spawning is on a 20 min to 25 min timers now WTF SOE.

Also the quest window has stopped showing the evolving part, any way to fix this or is this another incompetient part of soe?

If you're talking about the status part of the quest, you need to stretch out the quest window horizontally and/or shrink Objective Instructions column.

If you don't see the Quest Step parts at all, then you have to stretch that section out Vertically (and/or the entire Quest window).

Sabertooths are not common that's for sure. Getting a tracker will help alot. I've the majority in the South part of zone, basically S-SW of the opening to entire Eastern part of zone with all the undead and Seb entrance.

    Hope this helps.

I am boxing my 76 druid and no luck.

For the window all I get is instructions and nothng else. No matter tha size and there is no other section to shrink. I dont even get an option to remove it etac.

EDIT got it now thanks somehow it all got jumbled.

Same crap with the tigers here too. Zoned in, got some. I'm now 7 hrs into it and haven't seen one in 4. Been killing anything I can see. These quests are way too long.. seeing as we have to redo them later.

The quest says to kill Tigers only in TT? gack Stonebrunt and or the noobie iksar zone with the lake (can't think if the name atm) would work better:-P

SabER vs SabREtooth. There's a difference between TT and newbie zones.

Update... 10 hrs to finish that 1/2 of that quest.

It was about 8hr on my 56 Shm with a 56 Rng tracking to finish that part. I feel extremely bad for those unfortunate enough to not get the impressions before the kill count. Teaming up with others helps alot on these quests. You get multiple people done in the same amount of time or less.

4 hours a night since i started this post and got one more tiger. I still need 4 more to finish. this is insane or broken on AB server. Know not suppose to be easy but this is down right ludricious. if it is this hard for revered the others will be impossible on this server.

It is not broken specifically on AB. It is not broken at all.

The Real problem in TT with Sabertooth

Well I think this needs up some clarification.

Mobs in EQ are often drawn from a spawnlist I think. So if you kill mob -a- the system randomly determines a mob from a list for that zone.

This means that killing a sabertooth, will not spawn automatically a new ST when the spawntimer is done. In TT it might be a tigress, a raptor or such. This means in reverse, that you should also kill those mobs, to increase the chance that a ST will spawn.

The real problem in TT is:

                      THIS !!!

Extremly bad visibility, making it for non-trackers a game of chance to even find a ST.

This has happened since SOF and their infamous new fog engine. I am assuming that Ngreth is not checking every zone he is setting up drop mobs in, but this is really an unneeded handicap.

I would really like a comment to this from him, if he finds the time.

                        UPdate

Well as of tonight I have now camped this since 1/6 and still need 4 count them 4 tigers. I stoped the 4 hour camps 2 weeks agobut do 2 hours a night, kill everythign insite since i started. If this is correct and you claim not borke then something is definattely wrong. I have talked to 2 others and they havent gotten one in a month. Giving this thru weekend and if dont get at least one more destroying book and forgetting about augs. A full month in a zone that is grey to get drops is STUPID as hell imo.

You can get the tigers in Overthere, if you are looking for the lighty tailoring drops. I know the mobs in Overthere require you to kill other mobs not just tigers... For example I bring my wizard there to pick of cactuses sometimes for the dark elf tailoring drops, if I just clean out all the cacti and nuffing else, the spawn rate on cacti drops for a while, if I clean out all the other mobs in the same area, the cacti come back, so try clearing the other spawns out. The Tigers in Overthere are the higher level mobs, if you don't have someone whos around lvl 40 with you to con them, try clearing out sarnak knights and some of the rhino's near FM zone, as the higher level mobs were nearer to FM zone, and the Knights and Rhinos and Tigers near there were the higher end mobs.

Also, have an evil toon check the vendors in the OT outpost and check the neutral vendor at the mudpit in the lower level corner of Overthere, as I have found the tiger hides on both of those vendors several times because new players didn't know they were worth anything.

If your looking for a specific TT trash drop, try clearing everything in the general area that they are sposed to spawn in. Half of the mobs in TT are on some sort of cycle spawn system, so you have to clear lots of stuff to get the specific ones you are looking for. Hope that helps

This is a thread about the symbol tasks, you need to kill sabertooth tigers in TT, and not anything in OT!
