  • Ore - Am I understanding this correctly?

The following ore drops from mobs of a specific level (in order of lowest to highest) :
    Tin / Iron / Silvril / Thalium / Iridium / Fulginate / Rubicite / Indium / Rhenium / Tungsten / Cobalt

Now, what I what to make sure ... the following ore is ONLY used for skill ups. It has no other value at all, and you cannot create ANY items with it:

    Tin Ore
    Iron Ore
    Silvril Ore
    Iridium Ore
    Rubicite Ore
    Indium Ore
    Tungsten Ore

And the follow ore is used to create cultural gear:
    Thalium (Simple + Blessed Symbols)
    Fulginate (Ornate + Ornate Symbols)
    Rhenium (Intricate + Sacred Symbols)
    Cobalt (Elaborate + Eminent Symbols)

    Is this correct?

You're missing titanium and tantalum. Titanium is used to make exalted symbols and would soon be used to make cultural armor to fill in the space between elaborate armor and elegant armor. Tantalum is for the final set: elegant and sublime symbols.

Other than that, your list is right. The first list of ores are used to make armor templates which has no further use other than vendor fodder.

This site is a tremendous wealth of knowledge. I was vastly confused by the different amount of ores out there and as experiences brain fry.

So are there any plans to make the top list (ie. Tungsten, etc..) actually have a finished product eventually? Or has anyone heard, one way or the other?

Tungsten, probably not. There was the talk of Ngreth wanting to convert smithing combines over to the template for the lower level smithing armors and use some of the lower end templates but nothing with Tungsten. The templates main function was for a skill up path.

why is Sunshard Ore not on this list?
I have skilled up from 241 to 271 using Sunshard ore.

I only see 3 recipes that use Sunshard Ore, and none of them involve smithing. Is the database missing something?

Sunshard Ore gets made into conduit, and then into conduit armor, and then into real armor. The combine to make real armor is smithing/tailoring.

Regardless, sunshard isn't listed here because the above stuff is cultural, and sunshard is not.
