Going to give us a hint as to where it's going? (I'm guessing wildly.. but I'd think it's probably going to drop to even with the MCS --- 250.)

Should those of us working Smithing scramble to burn to 300 with it before this goes live?

Smithing with the new templates is NOT hard to skill up. Depending on your server, the cost will vary, but between Rhenium and Tungsten templates, Intricate armor, Sacred symbols, Silver Conduits, the other 3 tiers of higher level templates/armors. There are PLENTY of things you can use for smithing.

I'm not saying it isn't, Aldier --- I'm just pointing out that the resources of certain levels of dropped items might be pretty finite at the moment, and certain folks with oodles of plat (obviously not myself!) might appreciate the pre-change route here.

Well... I don't want you to use it NOW even I would really prefer you use the template.

But yeah, I settled on 250.

Did you accidentally (or intentionally) set the number of combines to evolve the trophy to 1000 anyway?
I just did 45 tungsten combines (312 trivial) and only got 4% evolution.

Not something that can even change without a full server patch.

Remember the rounding... you could have just barely ticked over one percent, then it needs a full gamut to get to the next percent before it ticks over.

Also... you have to SUCCEDE... it is possible at that trivial there were some failures?

And no. I did not even touch the exp on the trophies.

Also, the higher the trivial, the more experience the trophy gains on a success (up to 350). The numbers of needing only 500 or 700 or 1000 are based on doing a 350+ trivial combine. By doing a lower difficulty combine, you are going to need to do more.

                    Redirecting to the original poster.

The template recipes, while not vendor bought, do offer a buyable path to 300. Most of the metals are plentiful in the bazaar at a cost, or can be purchased in /buyer with some patience.

Once you have the ore drop, the rest of the components are vendor bought and stackable. So spend ooodles of plat and go to town if that is what you want.

That's what I did this weekend. Went from 220 to 300 by making the templates - titanium, tantalum, rhenium , cobalt, etc. Whatever had the best deal, I bought tons of. However, I went through most of my plat that was farmed since the release of SoF. So, not cheap, but fast and effective. And that Smithing Trophy quest sucked hard, for someone who never did the GoD TS Quests.
