  • Getting level 12 and 13 recipies scribed

I was 275 blacksmither when the scribe books hit the game and scribed up to level 11 (i bought and scribed all i could, think that was as far as i could go - not sure how to tell), reached level 300 in blacksmithing and now i cant find books to scribe the new recipes. So, how do i tell to what level i scribed before? i bought all the books i could at first i believe. I bought the level 12 and 13 books, but the receipies dont show up if i search for them in a kiln. And i could not find the guy who sold the culteral blacksmithing level 13 (elegant) book.

I got to 300, i thought i could get a book to scribe the recipies at that point. Did i have to be 300 before the expansion to be able to get the book? details are wood elf, druid, tunare, 300 blacksmither, and was hoping to scribe the books to finally see the recipies for sure. I dont recall but i think i saw the charms to 300, but that could have been due to tailoring 300 when the game came out. Is it just a matter of waiting until the vendor finds out i am a 300 blacksmither? shouldnt it check when i open his vendor window?

umm.. should proof read, i am smithing here, so yes i used a forge to see if recipies showed up, could not find the culteral recipe book, so i didnt go to hometown forge to check anything.

In Pok there are 4 vendors for the books, you have bought up to level 11 from the smithing vendor, but there is another guys there who sells the highest level books. Check them out again and check all 4 is my advice.

Moved this to the Smithing forums, as the forum it was posted on is for data submissions only.

No, you did not have to be 300 before the expansion came out.

The NPC is next to the smithing book guy. He has a name of something along the lines of "New discoveries." It doesn't mention him as either a tailor or a smith, but he sells the Elegant armor and the Exalted and Sublime aug recipe books. He is right next to the other guys. I just purchased them myself and had no problems. As far as I can tell there is really no way for him to not identify you as a 300 smith. The vendor should check when you click on him.

I can only think that you just may have checked the wrong vendor or the same vendor twice when you were checking all the vendors in the area.

The templates for tier 12 and 13 are on the template vendor.

The armor and symbol recipe books are on the "new discoveries" merchant. There are actually 5 vendors now.

Smithing, Tailoring, Tinkering, Templates, and New discoveries.

Cultural recipes (elegant wirewood for you) will ONLY show up in your cultural forge back in Kelethin. You should be able to find the symbol recipes in any forge but just searching for "sublime" or "exalted' is too general and will give you only a partial list. You would need to narrow the search by a slot or a deity (growth for tunare). To check if you have purchased a book, search for several keywords in the forge. Check the tradeskill guides section for a listing of the template names at each level.
