Elegant armor for Ogres

I looked around about an hour for an answer to this and couldn't find one, I'm sorry if I missed it.

Anyhow, my question is this. I got 300 smithing tonight and bought the new books from the vendor in PoK. "A tradeskill armor historian" sold me Smithed Armor Step XIII, and I scribed it. Then I tried making my first piece of elegant armor--a chain helm. I noticed the tantalum recipes were in book, but elegant were not. How do I learn elegant recipes?

I also tried combining without the automatic recipe, and using...
1x Ossified Cold Iron
1x Tantalum Chain Coif Template
1x Mold for Ogre Helms
1x Ogrish Smithy Hammer
1x Porous Loam
1x Bituminous Coal
1x Water Flask
...I got the message "This seems correct but something is wrong. Perhaps you need to know something more in order to combine this"

Do any of you know what I did wrong or where I can find out how to fix it? Any info is greatly appreciated!

There is another vendor up there betwen the tailoring and tinkering historians, called something like a cultural discoveries historian who has the books for the newer cultural recipes. Those are the ones you need to buy and scribe.

There are 5 vendors.

There is the smithing armor/symbol vendor, the tailoring armor/symbol vendor, the tinkering armor/symbol vendor, the template vendor, and the new discovery vendor (has Exalted, Elegant, and Sublime).

There is not enough room.

Even though it will not SHOW you 80 because of the restrictions, I can still only put actual 80 items on the list, and well... there are many more than 80 books that have these recipes in them.

after buying the books make sure you go to the oggok forge cultural armor still requires you to use the forge in your hometown.

I am at 276 and vendor shows me nothing. I have app the pattterns however to sublime. At what level unlocks the historian?

For Elegant armor, Exalted augs, and Sublime augs, you have to be at 300 skill before the vendor will unlock the recipe books.
