Uggh!! Where are these located in FM? I sure haven't seen any, the quest window says gnome reavers so I figured the gnome reavers I killed were the proper ones and I just wasn't getting updates for an entirely different reason /sigh.

They are normal looking gnomes, not clockworks. They spawn randomly in the lower field below the main elevators, in the top level in some of the spots where the gnomes spawn and in the blimp in the southeast part of the zone are some more gnome spawns.

They are somewhat rare, but they do exist.

Be prepared to spend a loooong time in that cursed area. Kill every gnome (never a bad plan) that you see and you will eventually get it.

The blimp also has them but the aggro through walls and the chain aggro is horrid.

Well just an update. The cultural combines are definitely the way to go. It only took me 400 sacred symbol attempts to get from skill 252 to 300. Needless to say I was quite pleased.

I've been working on the sublime aug quest, and getting the reavers to spawn is only part of the problem. You just have to hope you don't get unlucky and never get any of the impression updates.

Do you have to do anything to get the impression updates? Click on the book or whatever, or does it just happen when you kill the correct subset of reaver?

There are lots of theories out there but to be honest you just need the book to be in your posession and get credit for the kill. I tend to make sure I'm somewhat close to the mob when it dies. I've tried with book in bag and out of bag and in first slot ect ect and none of that made an ounce of difference, but you wont get a single one if you leave it in the bank.

A friend of mine swares that if you toss a piece of popcorn up into the air and catch it in your mouth right as the mob dies you get one every time.

The book needs to be in your inventory when you kill the mob named "a reaver" to get updates for the sublime task. It happens automatically on the kill.

If you are a shroud... it is not in your inventory :/
