Exalted Symbols

I did the quest and made the backpack with the exhalted patterns.

Put the following items in the forge (338 skill with trophy)

Blessed Water of Tunare + Anthracite Coal+Exalted Chest Symbol Pattern+Titanium Ore+Alkali Loam

I got the following message:
This seems correct but something is wrong. Perhaps you need to know something more in order to combine this

Any suggestions? Do I need to evolve the trophy more or is there some other 'learning' quest I need?

You need to find the npc in great library that sells the recipe books. Find the correct book, read it, then scribe it and you should be able to make it.

I believe this NPC said something about cultural discoveries or something above it's head, though I could be wrong about that. It is NOT, however, the NPC's that say blacksmithing or tailoring - it is an NPC to the right of those.

I should never attempt stuff like this late at night - I did check the smithing book vendor and probably walked right past the cultural npc

Anyway I found the cultural npc - got the books and scribed them - ran back to my cultural forge (not really necessary for symbols but it's now a habit) tried the recipe and it worked! I now have a new symbol for my breastplate and am looking for more loam to make symbols for the other pieces.
