Enchanted Velium Bits

Can anyone confirm if this recipe still works?

I am a DE Smith on The Combine with a skill lvl of 176 unmodded.

I try to combine Spell:Enchanter Velium, 1 Coldain Temper, and 2 unstacked Small pieces of Velium, and hammer(tried smithy and Velium) and I get an error message indicating these items can not be combined in this container?

I tried using the forge in Neriak, Bazaar, and Thurgadin?

Anyone know if this has been updated or any prerequisite as far as buying book or start quest dialogue?

While this used to be a relatively good way to get to 212, the new smithing templates are far superior - and they stack, and sell back for about 95% of cost of purchased materials, vs having to destroy each EVB as you make it.

I think those new templates I wont get until I hit 200. The templates I have open to me are green now.

240ish templaes available at 175. Check the vendors to buy the new books, or experiment to learn them.

I'd also recommend the new cultural, unless you want 200+ fast. Velium is faster to farm than the cultural ores, unless your server's bazaar has lots available.

I empathize with your EVB situation:

On Povar, the ores for smithing 175+ are over 500p each. A buyer might work, but even as a 65 soloing, Velium is much easier to farm than gathering a) enough plat to feed a buyer or b) the ores

I'm in the same situation - I already have a human 300, but my dark elf wants to break the 200 mark.
