  • Regarding Non-Visible Elaborate

I got my hands on a couple stacks of Tantalum ore this afternoon, and in a frenzy I made a few bracers and a breastplate successfully. I then decided to try making some belt/cloak templates to see what the finished items would look like

However, I see that there isn't any final recipe towards finishing non-visible pieces of Elaborate armor. It's entirely possible that I'm missing something, but I'd assume that the template recipes are in there for a reason. Thanks.

Currently there are no non-visible pieces of cultural. Ngreth has said that in the future, there *could* be a smithing makeover in which templates from lower-end ores could be used for making banded, fine plate, etc. (which would provide a use for making non-visible slots at those levels). While the original 'old race' cultural armors (dwarven plate, 'blue diamond cultural,' etc.) had non visible pieces, the series of cultural released with DoN has never had non-visible pieces and - not meaning to speak for the House Ogre here, as he knows more - I have never heard of any intent to provide non-visible pieces for those sets - to include the elegant armor released with SoF.

      .

I guess my next question is, why would they put 'dead-end' recipes into the game, without any particular value?

        Honestly... that's a good question.

But just as honestly... They are there (at least at lower levels) to fill in gaps in skill-up progression. They are there (in higher levels) because there are lower-level versions.

Other than that... Well, like Garshok said, there is the possibility of these items being used in the future.

for "Future use" **AND** for a smoothe skillup path.

With the patch un-used stuff should now no longer be marked tradeskill.
