I made it to 205 in smithing ( actually might be 209 ) and was wondering if by anychance if there is any easy way to get to 300 in smithing. Any recipes that were good on pp and were easy to do? just need a few suggestions. thanks.

Check out the Tradeskill Guides and UI Mods forum (bottom of the page), and look up the 'Complete Tradeskill Guide 5.0.'

If you scroll through this forum a bit, you'll also find a few threads from the last few months asking this or similar questions:

    'Advice' - http://mboards.eqtraders.com/eq/showthread.php?t=30537

    'Smithing advice' - http://mboards.eqtraders.com/eq/showthread.php?t=30455

I'd say look at the Complete Tradeskill Guide first - the other threads are mostly kibbitzing on the various alternatives in the Complete Tradeskill Guide.

Including your player race is also important for most tradeskill-related questions, as for smithing, tailoring and fletching (at least) race can open up options to older races which may not be available for some of the newer races.

More of the same that Zopharr stated above, but I'll include a couple examples:

Cuurent skill to 222 - Enchanted Velium Bits (Farm Velium ore and convert velium weapons).

222 to 267 - Shadowscream armor (lots of farming, but cheap)

268 - 300 - Cultural recipes (have t do quests, lots of farming or buying parts in bazaar).

The new cultural also provides lower level options, but requires a bit more farming. Mistletoe Cutting Sickles can take you to 250, but they are not that cheap. Buying the high end parts, will cost lots of plat. If your plan is to skill up so you can make some armor pieces, it is going to take a while. Maitain a pace that you can manage while keeping your sanity. Good luck.

Another alternative, requires farming and an enchanter, is Tae Ew armor. All are Trivial at 295 and relatively cheap to make. Tae Ew chain bracer: distilled lizard blood (vial of distilled mana,2 tae ew bloods, brewing 15), 1 sheet of metal and 1 bracer sectional mold.
Farming the bloods in CT will also get you rhenium/indium ores, pristine to superb silks and animal pelts. I have also had the marrows and spinneret fluids drop, plus a few named that give you tribute. No cash drop from the mobs, but the weapons they drop sell for up to 19pp ea. Tae ew meat can be made into candied tae ew, (chunk of tae ew meat, frosting and spices, baking 268),that sells for 18pp ea, you get 8 for each meat. For your high lvl alchemist, robust lizard man blood drops, frequently.
In a couple of runs, just through the front end, can get between 7 and 12 tae ew bloods, and a gagle of the others.
Hope this helps the poor struggling smith.
