Fulginate Frustration

So, I get back into Everquest a couple months ago, and figure I'll have fun doing smithing, and figure I'll make some of that nice cultural armor...and what, I need Jade Shards for symbols?!

Of course, whenever you want something, you can never find it. So, I decided to wait for the overhaul. And now I'm 42, and the overhaul finally came. So, I had tons of fun farming Thalium and Alkaline Loam from the gnoll miners in Blightfire, and made my symbols!

Life is good, and let's make it better! Let's make my Ornate armor!

Now...where the heck do I find Fulginate ore and Malleable Loam? I've been hunting a number of places where the creatures are blue and drop Silvril and Iridium (e.g., Nagafen's Lair, Nurga), but no Fulginate.

I need better than that. Any insights or suggestions, please?

I looted a fulginate ore yesterday in Old Sebelis from the very first two mobs in the zone.

Farming cave recluses in Gorukar for spinnerets I got fulginate off both spiders and the roaming undead.

AC is still a Hot Spot zone for exp if IRC. Should be fairly easy to find a group for there.... now finding one with no other tradeskillers who do not want any of the ore drops?? That might be a tad bit harder.

I was very successful farming Fulginate ore out of Stone Hive. It seemed to me that any of the bixies inside the 'tower' could drop it, but I may be mistaken. They offer the convenience of auto-aggroing even a level 75 character, with a decent aggro range. Not too many hp, either. Only the Royals from the Queen area (who is not able to be pulled out of her room and is in fact a raid event) seemed to last more then a few seconds to my rogue.

Now if I could only find a similar spot to farm rubicite, which is the next ore up. My lil drakkin ranger made himself a full suit + type 11 augment out of the fulginate! I luff the new cultural combines!

At 43, I still don't think I'd do well in Stone Hive. When I had mastered the Farm House, I was still unable to do anything in the hive. Maybe I'll go back and see.

I managed to farm enough Fulginate and Malleable Loam out of the bazaar to get my skill up, and so just finished my Ornate Frostwarded armor last night. For a while, I could get fulginate ore for around 10pp, but now it's up around 100pp, though I did buy 23 for 50pp each last night. I can not skill up at those prices, not to mention what the next few levels of ore might cost (I haven't been looking).

While collecting impressions from tigers in Trakanon's Teeth, I found a couple bars of fulginate and 1 malleable loam, from froglok knights that were dark blue to me (again, I'm 43). Certainly not enough to skill up on...

I had excellent drop rates on Fulginate Ore in the Crypt of Nadox. Mobs there start in the mid 40s and raise from there, but it should be a decent place to try to start heading to if you can get a group together.

I went there last night, and died. A nice cleric resurrected poor me. He said he's getting lots of Rubicite, and some Fulginate too.

I've made a note to go back there in a few levels.

I got a nice amount of Fulginate in City of Mist. Should be good hunting grounds at your level.

Coranthus Creep , the bugs by reapers drop Rubicite and some loams. If you have a main the reapers also drop Bolts for the AAAAs that sell so well in bazaars across the servers.
