  • Metallic Drake Scales Worthless?

I have a few Metallic Drake Scales and went to make a few things and I can't use them. Are they now worthless?

Yep, they are only worth what vendors will pay you for them. We were warned well in advance of this change.

Yes, there were many messages in patch notes and many posts on SoE official boards as well as here. They are now obsolete

        Drake Scales

Geez...I have not played much in the last few months. I didn't realize I was being robbed. There is tons of items in my back account. The drake scales and hides are the hardest to get but now I am realizing that it is all worthless. What is next? Is Sony going to nerf my clicky?

If you have played at all in the last couple months, you saw patch messages indicating this change was on the horizon. If you chose not to actually read the patch messages ... sucks to be you!

I must say, I rather resent this. I came back to EQ just a bit over a month ago, realized my gear was gimp, did a bit of searching around and decided this new-fangled cultural was the way to go. My roommate and I both set to work at the forge, got a set of armor done and then started stockpiling items for our next level or cultural. Neither one of us knew a thing about the upcoming change to cultural, until a friend of ours jokingly mentioned how we must have been frantically trying to use up all our components. This was 2 days before the patch (and at the time, we thought it was 1 day before the patch). Apparently there was a patch message the next day that might have given us one last chance to get rid of our stuff (if we had been home to see it), but that doesn't seem like much fair warning to me. There may have been a big flap about it sometime previous to my return to EQ, and I'm sure people who live on the messageboards knew all about it, but for a normal player who just happened not to be around months ago/on the one day right before the patch, there was slim/no warning.

So anyway - yeah, I managed to use up the majority of my stuff, but *only* because of an offhand remark from a guildy. That patch seriously needed more "average-person" warning; so lay off the condescending attitude.
