Heya Gang,, Im trying to find the approx. level of mobs that drop Indium Ore so I can farm some. Anyone able to help me out?

From looking at the Magelo list:
Greigs End
CT
PoJ
Chardok
Droga
Stillmoon
all look like good places to check.
One warning, the Magelo list will include mobs that dropped ore for 5-6 days before the patch but no longer drop it. Over time those will sink to the bottom, but at this point we had more time with the global drop rate than the humonoid drop rate.

I was getting Indium ore roughly 1/4 of all Juggs killed, and Protector and Tola dropped Rhenium.

As I noticed when trying to work this stuff out for the Sunshard drops, the magelo listings are problematical - they are sorted by the percentage of times that the mob had the item vs the number of times they were killed. This means that certain named mobs end up with what appear to be really good drop rates, when in fact they were just killed a couple of times (with magelo update active) and just "happened" to be lucky.

Are there any Statisticians around here that could help us get a confidence interval on the "true" drop percentages from the data magelo provides?

Magello is still the best source.

Just decide what the minimum sample size youre willing to accept as a valid indicator is and discount anything less (such as nameds with only a few kills).

In the case of cultural drops tho, Id say its way too early to try and pin this down yet. We know the rules (theoretically, since I dont think theyre working as intended still) and most of the Magelo results are skewed by the Montey Hall weekend of drops we had. However, those results can still point you in the right direction regarding none humanoid droppers since the highest results should theoretically be those who were dropping from both tables.

I am willing to give a list of Ore "races" for this since it is less clear than some.

The system does work in such a way where I wanted to limit the amount of races I included to limit the size of the OR statement the system has to go through when it spawns NPC's. Because of this I did exclude some NPC's that fit because the amount of NPC's in the game set to that race was tiny.

Have had Indium fall off the grimlings in AC, and the spiders in DN over the weekend.
More ores in general falling off the grimlings than the spiders, more silks in general falling off spiders than grimlings (which makees sense to me)

Mobs in GE dropping a loam here and there (pretty rare), ores sometimes.. skins sometimes, rare silk drop.

I've spent the last couple of hours in Cazic Thule and haven't had any ore of any type drop. I've gotten 4 pristine, 3 natural and 1 fine silk though. I was hoping that the indium ore would drop at a better rate than that.

More ores in general falling off the grimlings than the spiders, more silks in general falling off spiders than grimlings (which makees sense to me)

That must have been BEFORE the patch? Since Thursday there should have been no ore off the spiders whatsoever....

I also made a visit to AC, I talked to a mage that was soloing there (pretty much keeping Inner Acrylia clear) -- he'd only gotten 2 Indium ore in an hour or more (which he kindly gave to me ).

Gotten some Indium and Rhenium in MMC (BB camp) LDoN, and maybe in MM (EF camp) LDoN also. I wasn't looting in Steppes, but seems like I seen some of those ores and a some lower tirvial ones drop from the Gnolls there also.

I have gotten some Cobalt and Tungsten some where but I don't remember where. My guess tho is it can drop off mobs lower 70, as I haven't been killing many DBs lately other than a few named in WoS and Steppes, other than raids and I haven't been looting raids since the patch.

Sanctus Seru seemed to drop several tradeskill items also, but we only killed about 40 mobs there, and most were named so it may not be a good sample.
