  • Calculator Skill

    Hello fellow smiths,
I'm looking to finish up my smithing skill and have always done my best to get my strength up to 508 using shammy dire focus. Is this overkill? I checked on the calculator and didn't notice a difference between success rates at 415 vs. 508.

Thanks in advance for your assistance,

Yup it's overkill. Actually 415 still is.

The way the formula works a type 2 difficulty tradeskill without alt stat for raising skill requires 415 for failures to have the same chance for a skill-up as a success, i.e. 415 is what you'd like to have for tailoring.

Smithing has an alt stat (STR). IIRC that reduces the stat required for maximum effectiveness to 400.

Thanks for the clarification. It's nice not having to chase buffs to have the best results.
