  • TBS Plate Molds - why not stacking

If I want to make anything else besides plate armor I can buy stacks of patterns and then gate to CR and make a heap of armor to sell or just for skillups. But with plate, no the molds don't stack so I can only buy about 10 or so at a time (I don't have the spare bank space to dump all the other stuff I carry arround).

Please either allow these stack also or whack a forge in the pirate camp so I can just run back and forth. But if you add a forge we might also need a banker

If you're just doing it for smithing skill-ups, why not do the chain version instead then? Same trivial, as best I know...

I just run back and forth to the Erudin forge. There's never anyone in that town. I typically make a few runs back and forth and sell 100 molds to the vendor next to the forge - using her as a makeshift bank.

Most of the time I make the chain armor though.

Two weeks ago, this vendor had 400+ Linked Energeiac Chain Coifs on her, donated by yours truely.

and I thought there as some stacking to them... just not to the extent that you can stack pages of paper. I could of course be wrong

No molds stack that I know of. I know for sure Hinge and Latch molds don't.

No smithing mold I can think of stacks. I know of a few JC molds that stack though. At least I think the JC molds stack for the Staurolite/Prestidigitase/Harmonagate/Taaffeite combines.

EDIT: My bad, the Plate molds are different. I was thinking of the weapon molds, they are the same ones as everywhere else. Been a while since I made the stuff and got a little mixed up.

If you check you will find that Woad is the only person who currently sells "Freetide" Molds.

So yes you do need to buy them from him. If the recipes could be changed to use just normal "full plate" molds then I would be happy. As these are common enough near forges.

I would agree with the OP and I am pretty certain that the other "patterns" are all standard patterns (for example, cap pattern, chainmail coif pattern) but somehow Plate got the "special" Freetide molds....why would this be the case?

well... I could... except it would be about twice as expensive to make each piece.

The new molds were an attempt to normalize the pricing.
