Modified skill above 300?

Hi

Is there an increase in sucess rate after your smithing skill gets above 300 modifed. Or is 300 whether modified or not the best you can do?

If the trival is over 300, using mod to raise your skill over 300 does help. But if the trival is below your base, mod won't do any good.
