  • Viable skillup Path 261+

For the most part I have been doing Tae Ew Chain Tunics and Bazu armor from 244 to my current skill level of 261. I will not do sickles or shadowscream because I hate farming blah zones, and I can't stand doing a billion combines for one product where most of the parts are non-stackable.

All of that being said, I am wondering if (with basically an unlimited bank account) Pure Enchanted Velium Bars are a viable skillup path, or at least something to do while I'm waiting for more bazu blood/skins and tae ew blood vials. At this point in time, I rarely sell any chain tunics - I mostly give them to friends and the guild for tribute. I sell a few bazu pieces of armor here and there, but usually after I convert them to bazu **** of flames. Pyrilean flames are just too hard to come by.

I don't mind taking a bath on losing pp to finish this tskill, as long as it saves my wrists and sanity. I'd like someone to check my math if they could, this is my first time using that calculator.

I figure each attempt is ~797pp. I have an unmodded skill of 261 with a 15% modifier (gogo Hammer of the Ironfrost). I am maxed in str/wis/int at 415. By using the calculator, I figure I can hit 300 in about 1001 attempts while spending around 798k pp. Does that sound about right? Granted I will be doing tae ew and bazu at the same time, but I think this is a decent path to take if pp is not an issue. (And all the parts and finished product are STACKABLE! )

If you fancy something different some of the new TBS armors have a triv +300. They do have a sub-combine on jewellry-craft that is also +300 though you may not wish to do that tradeskill. Cost around 500pp per attempt + whatever Sunshard ore costs on your server.

      http://mboards.eqtraders.com/eq/showthread.php?t=29145

Ohh they are lore too, so destroy or give them away. May be some market for them on your server dunno. Pretty much uncharted waters on their saleabilty, I have only seen one person selling them in baz on povar, i made a full set for my 55 cleric just coz a girl needs a new set of clothes once in a while.

The Energeiac wrist pieces are not lore, and trivial at 304 iirc.

On that note, as anyone recieved a skill up from making TBS armors yet? I've done well over 100 smithing combines above my skill level and haven't recieved any skill ups. 30 combines of a different recipe (non TBS) got me 4 skill ups however, go figure.

I can confirm multiple skillups on both jewelcraft and tailoring. I will be doing a massive smithing run soon so I'll confirm smithing.

I am a casual smither and I am at 261 at the moment. Smiths Ceramic clay trivial is 262, uses a file, enchanted clay, high quality ore and steppes ore.

Does your guild do Anguish runs? Magnetic drops are frequent and skill ups are from 262 (wrist) to 282 (chest), add 1-4 lightning cores (not so common) and you can combine them again for another chance at a skill up.

Similar to above is Bazu skins of varying quality + Bazu blood + chain mold skill ups are 262-282. Pyrelian Flame takes the place of the Lightning Cores.

Sorry for not responding sooner. Have you looked at the old “Blue Diamond” cultural? This requires blue diamonds and various tempers. You can always set up a buyer for components, and will generally get a fair bit over the course of a week. If you don’t have a gnome for sunshard, may be the way to go.

                    - Assuming that you are human from the sig picture - the blue diamond plate is probably the easiest. The non-imbued variety is “Fine Heraldic,” trivials at 335, and requires Essence of Sunlight, Griffene Blood and Rainwater for the temper. These used to be really hard to find when the armor first came out, but as the old Blue Diamond cultural has been sorely outclassed (I remember how when it came out was almost on par raid level in AC/HP) and is pretty much forgotten about now, you can often find the Essence of Sunlight and Griffenne Blood on sale in bazaar cheap or on vendors. Doesn’t hurt that more mobs drop the components than when it first came out, as well. Requires pottery and brewing skills.

                    - Shadowscream – I know that you don’t want to farm, but if you aren’t 268 yet, you can buy the swirling shadows in bazaar and farm enough shriking and wailing substances for 40 combines in an hour or so.

                    - Sacred arm/chest/legging symbols. You can buy shissar scales and crushed diamond dust to make these before the upcoming cultural patch (assuming that you already have the quest done). The arms trivial at 290 IIRC, the chest/legs at 303 or so. A nice part is that you’ll have a 5 skill-up bonus. You’ll need jewelcraft to make the sacred water.

I got Zopharr from 280-297 in 107 sacred symbol combines, then made another 40-odd Underfoot Brellium Bracers to get to 300. Took a couple weeks – and an hour farming in Ssraa – to buy all the symbol components, but I figured the sacred symbols saved me about 240 combines. If you don’t hit 300 by the patch, the blue diamond cultural will not be getting changed, and generally tributes well.

Just a quick note about Heraldic. If you can find a cleric of Erollisi Marr, have him or her imbue a few stacks of Star Rose Quartz for you, then make the Radiant Heraldic instead of the Fine Heraldic. The bracers tribute for much, much more than the basic Fine Heraldic. The Radiant Heraldic BP is also one of the best tribute-per-pp items you can get.

If you can find an ogre shaman of Rallos Zek, get some imbued jade and make Fierce Heraldic Boots. Better tribute than Radiant bracers, but much harder to find the imbued gems.

Aye - you can get some fine tribute off these. Don't know the tribute values for humans, so didn't get into that.

For Dwarven armor as an example, though:

                        - agnostic bracer tributes for 1970
                        - Brell bracer tributes for 5500-odd (for the cost of a 130pp ruby)
                        - Bristlebane tributes for 7700-odd (just need to find the cleric . . .)
