  • Best Swirling Shadows farming area?

Well, just started on my shamans smithing so he can make some of the TBS armors, got him to 171 yesterday.. and didn't feel like farming hides anymore so I am skipping straight to Velium bits.. but thats irrelevant ..

After Velium bits (and the PoP smithing quest thing to 227) I plan on starting shadowscream..
Looked it up and pretty much figured for a skill of 250 I need ~1000 Shadows..

Whats the best place to farm these as a 69 monk?
Currently using Twilight Sea, but I just started so I not sure on drop rate

Just curious if there is a better spot..
    Thanks ^_^

I think that the undead in & around the tower in Blightfire moors drop swirling shadows too

I believe Twilight is -the- spot for swirls.

I know swirls drop from shades in other zones, Maidens Eye and Ahkeva for example, but there you're dealing with additional mobs that are inevitably in your way and dropping not-swirls. If you're in position to get some experience for an alt or friend along the way and gather swirls casually, by all means check out ME and AR.

If you are simply out to farm a ton of swirls, its shade island in Twilight all the way. Of course, don't be surprised to find the island already camped by your competition

Aye, the thing in BFM drop the things..
Pretty sure I was the one that posted that they did on allahs, as well as about 10 other items XD

Just remember that after over 100 kills I only had ~10 of the things

Twilight seems to be working for me... Not overly boring, but found out quickly pulling the entire island can be potentially hazardous when your MR decides to hate you (getting chain Lifetapped for 200 dmg by 6 mobs = not fun)
        41 down .. 959 to go >_>

Sure, the drop rate in BFM isn't as good as the shades in TS, but the spawn time is MUCH better. If you're a high level AoE class, you could probably train all the skeletons at once, and they'd be up again before you could loot them all. And some of the drops sell for a few plat each. I used my monk at both camps, and can't stand the downtime in TS. Even as a melee class, at level 65, I had no trouble with multiple skeletons.

I can take the every skeleton there without problems
            The problems I had are
            1) The drop rate is horrible.. I was there for about 1 or 2 hours and saw maybe 10 or 20 ..
and 2) The fog causes me horrible lag

and as I can get 41 or so in an hour ish in TS.. I am gonna stay here..

Blightfire Moors is a good option if Twilight Sea is already camped. Also, the two named skellies on top of the tower can drop horse hooves, used for PoR fletching. Even if you are not personally fletching, the hooves sell well in the Bazaar.
